Is having three perfumes greedy?

How many perfumes do you have? Normally I have one day perfume and one going out perfume (which is seriously underused at the moment).

Now I'm about to buy a new bottle of my usual perfume but I also want to try another one - I cant help but feel kind of greedy though?

I have about 40. Come and join us on the perfumista threads - then you will know true fragrance obsession!

ConsuelaHammock · 30/01/2021 14:39

Buy it !
I have 4
Coco - my everyday
Tom Ford -black orchid a recent purchase which I’d forgotten about
Issy Myake- my summer perfume
Jean Paul Gautier - my going out perfume which I rarely wear now . It reminds me of being young and dancing all night .

mouse70 · 30/01/2021 14:39

I have always loved perfumes and have 5 on the go. BUT, for a reason you can all guess!!!!!!I can not smell anything at the moment so food tasteless and not enjoyable and perfumes have no smell!! One of my worries is that smell and taste will not return.

Unsure33 · 30/01/2021 14:41

I have treated myself during lockdown so have about 4 at the moment .

My all time favourite still at the moment is Chanel number 5 though .

Unsure33 · 30/01/2021 14:42

Perfumista thread😃 ....wow I will hunt that one out .

Trinacham · 30/01/2021 14:42

I have at least 6 different perfume bottles on the go at the minute!

Stillgoings · 30/01/2021 14:52

I love perfume.I think it's fine to have a few on the go. I nearly always have Chanel Cristalle, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea and Calvin Klein Euphoria in, but occasionally add others to the mix. At the moment I've got some Paco Rabanne Olympea because I thought it smelled nice on a colleague and I've got some Calvin Klein Eternity Moment because they were selling it cheap in my local chemists. I wear them, but I don't think I'd buy them again..it's good to have your classics and try something new too. We might as well treat ourselves, there's nothing else doing

Mine came back after about 15 days post acute covid. I sprayed myself daily with Miss Dior and then one day - hallelujah! - I could detect a vague scent and from then on in, taste and smell senses returned.

Get well soon!

squishee · 30/01/2021 14:58

Also 3

SecondClassmyass · 30/01/2021 15:10

I have perfumes for winter, early spring, spring, late spring, early summer, high summer, summer evening, post morning shower in the summer, late summer and about 5 for winter 🤣
I don’t consider myself a perfume collector.
I get bored with a scent very quickly and then have to jump to the next one. But i want to go back to the same perfume at the same time of the year next year. So a bottle will last me 3-6 years.
For example I only use Angel in November and if I smell it in April I have all the autumn memories come back to me, and i don’t like that feeling. However when November is approaching I can’t wait to be spritzing Angel and feeling dark and autumnal.
I currently have:
Chanel Mademoiselle
Chanel no5 - both for January
Creed Love in White (like this one in late winter, so February)
Narcisio Rodriguez for her -March and April
Currently looking for a spring scent for May, i might try Jo Loves white rose and lemon leaves, sounds very fresh and spring like
Annick Goutal Songes - june& luly
Chanel no5 l’eau - august
Chanel gabrielle- september
And from October to December I wear: Jo Malone pomegranate noir, diptyque fleur de peau, Angel and jo malone Orange bitters.

Chance is a beautiful warm scent, makes me feel sensual-go for it.

starfishmummy · 30/01/2021 15:15

I wouldn't feel guilty but Id think it was a waste - I dont use it up fast enough and perfumes deteriorate with age.

murbblurb · 30/01/2021 15:18

can you afford it? Do you like the stuff? no problem. I believe it does go off fairly rapidly though - it is a product aimed at women so will be designed not to last.

please use responsibly. No-one should be able to smell you unless they are in kissing distance. Hate being passed by women stinking of perfume.

Newnamefor2021 · 30/01/2021 15:27

I must be super greedy then. 😆
Husband has around 10 I think and I must have the same. Channel coco is my main fragrance, I like to mix it up though.

I am a Chanel whore! My everyday one is Gabrielle. And my going out one is Allure Sensuelle. I've received so many compliments on that last one. It's just kind of pretty but dense smelling without being aggressive.

Gabrielle I love and this time im trying the Essence version rather than the standard![/quote]
You sound just like me! I’ve started collecting Chanel scents and my everyday favourite is Gabrielle (EDP original) with Allure Sensuelle or Coco Mademoiselle Intense for evening. I also just bought Chance and love it! You can never have too many perfumes!

AwkwardSquad · 30/01/2021 15:44

I’ve got seven at the moment, although that includes two large samples.

I’ve had two of them for ages as they are quite intense so not suitable for the office and I never really went anywhere in the evening that would call for them - Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather and Chanel Bois Des Iles. I’ve started wearing them every so often as I currently WFH so my perfume won’t be getting up anyone else’s nose, and it’s cheering me up - a little treat every day.

I’m eyeing up another bottle of my current favourite perfume but haven’t quite made the decision yet - L’Artisan Parfumeur Tea for Two. Was lucky enough to find a bottle in TKMaxx about three years ago, bought it blind, loved it.

I don’t bother with makeup or nails or smart clothes these days, I’m only visible via Zoom anyway, but I’m really enjoying the perfume.

Not if they are stored properly.
FolkyFoxFace · 30/01/2021 16:06

Thanks to the PP who reminded me of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea perfume! I'd forgotten all about that!

I don't know if my tastes are very "grown up", but I just love fresh scents were I can tell what's in them if that makes sense? I love LUSH's range. Blush I thought they'd be overpowering or sweet, but they're really not! My only issue is that they constantly discontinue my favourites!

I have Flowers Barrow and Fresh As, then about five others that I can't remember the names of. I also still love White Musk by Body Shop. 😂

To be fair, I do get asked quite often what I'm wearing and where to get it, so maybe it isn't so bad!

VinylDetective · 30/01/2021 16:07

I’ve got more than 20. So shoot me 🤷‍♀️

user1471538283 · 30/01/2021 16:10

I currently have 4 although I had more but chucked them because they went off.

It is so hard at the moment so treat yourself!

AwkwardSquad · 30/01/2021 16:13

If you store them properly, they do last a surprisingly long time.

fantasmasgoria1 · 30/01/2021 16:16

Poison, opium and euphoria for going out, lou lou, Eden, flower, nina ricci,

Sindragosan · 30/01/2021 16:17

If you have somewhere out of direct sunlight and ideally not too hot, they should last a long time.

I have a couple of cheap ones for everyday, a Dior one for going out, and a few in the middle depending how I feel and what I'm wearing.

bebarkered · 30/01/2021 16:44

Glitterblue
Are you going to take the perfume back?

MissBattleaxe · 30/01/2021 16:46

I've got 74. I've been writing a perfume blog for 8 years though.
