To ask what you’d do with £1500

Just received an unexpected windfall of about £1500. Very happy. Will probably do something sensible with it (have savings but planning home improvements).

But just to while away the hours, what would you do with £1500 this weekend if you could just spend it on yourself, and things you want rather than need?

I’d spend £1000 on booking some kind of staycation for later in the year.

Then I’d spend £500 on some art to brighten up the house

MrsJBaptiste · 29/01/2021 21:56

I've got this sat in the bank from working excess hours over the past few months but can't spend it!

Clothes? Not going out
Treats for me? Not at the moment
Home improvements? Family money

Looking for inspiration!

Imonaplane · 29/01/2021 21:57

I would get another dog. I only have three.

ODFOx · 29/01/2021 21:59

I'd buy a voucher for an overnight stay with lovely dinner and lovely breakfast at Le Manoir or similar for once the pandemic has lessened or when a much bigger proportion of the population are vaccinated and lockdown is less severe.,

Jumpjumpjumper · 29/01/2021 22:00

A dog. Three years waiting. Prices aren't coming down, it seems!

RJnomore1 · 29/01/2021 22:00

Decent exercise bike
Lovely chair for my bedroom
Not sure about the rest. The chair is £400 I think the bike I want about £700

I’ll keep thinking it’s the two things I’m prob going to buy soonish. There’s patio furniture I like but it goes over budget and not just for me

RJnomore1 · 29/01/2021 22:01

Maybe online coaching So I actually get off my arse.

morekidsthanhands · 29/01/2021 22:03

I've got my eye on a hand held carpet cleaner...

How much is lipo?

S0CKS · 29/01/2021 22:03

@HarryDresdensLeatherDuster
When you have no real clue and the £20 stuff is nicer than the £10 lidl stuff and you justify it that way?

heymammy · 29/01/2021 22:04

I would either:

Order parquet flooring for entrance hall and through to kitchen
Book contractor to lay a back patio
Get a new oven
Get dd a better spec gaming pc

I'm currently leaning towards the parquet Grin

AStudyinPink · 29/01/2021 22:05

How much is lipo?

For me, way more than £1500...

Proper barista style coffee machine. If you’re a coffee drinker it’ll pay for itself in time anyway!

RandomMess · 29/01/2021 22:09

2 Devon or Cornish Rex Kittens, they are crazy loving and no fluff or hair to drive me insane

noideabutstilltrying · 29/01/2021 22:10

I'd put it toward a black German Shepard puppy.

If not I'd buy a diamond and emerald ring for my self 🙂

Grapefruity · 29/01/2021 22:10

A black Chloe Marcie bag 😍

SunshineXX1 · 29/01/2021 22:11

This is my favourite game.

New specs, new coat, new trainers, new haircut and a full head of highlights for a whole new me every day.

Mulberry Millie tote bag.

The Antonia mother of pearl chest of drawers from
Graham and Green and a giant Jarapa bottle lamp.

New flooring (parquet? Victorian tiles?) for our very scruffy hallway.

A dresser full of blue and white china like my Granny’s.

Plan a holiday for when it’s safe! I’ve planned so many holidays, I seem to think when covid is over I will some how be a millionaire

toocold54 · 29/01/2021 22:12

I’d put it away to save for a holiday when we can finally go :)

😂😂

Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/01/2021 22:13

I bought a house last year and some rooms still need decorating/carpets, plus my kitchen needs new tiles so I'd do that.

feellikeanun · 29/01/2021 22:17

Jacuzzi bath 🛀

starsparkle08 · 29/01/2021 22:17

Towards a new boiler

If I didn’t need that replacing a nice piece of jewellery

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 29/01/2021 22:18

I would buy shrubs and baby trees.
And a load of bird food.
And a little water feature.
And a donation to the local animal rescue.

The 150,000 from the lotto would buy a little house and garden to go with it.

huggzy · 29/01/2021 22:18

Definitely home improvements- our bedroom needs decorating including new carpet and furniture. We need carpet for the stairs/ landing too.

But if that's not allowed, I'd maybe put it away to pay for a holiday when we can actually go somewhere.

TigerDroveAgain · 29/01/2021 22:18

Id book a really nice hotel for a weekend, plus extravagant dining, for DH and me. Obviously not going to happen any time soon
