To ask what conspiracy theories you actually believe are true?

Following on from the thread where OP was looking for conspiracy theories for her kids to look at, I was wondering whether anyone actually believes any of the outlandish conspiracies.

We’ve all read about how people believe that Elvis didn’t die/Paul McCartney did die/the royals are all lizards/the earth is flat. But I’ve never encountered anyone who actually believes any of them, only people who talk about people who (apparently) believe in them.

So, what conspiracies do you actually believe and why?

Novichok nerve agent. Anyone who comes into contact with that substance should not survive to tell the tale. There's no antidote anywhere in existence ...

Bet the Russians were left scratching their heads wondering 'Hmmm, how come those people we poisoned on UK soil are still alive!'

Good going, five eyes ... Grin

There's no antidote for any of the poisons that work like novichok. But in some circumstances an exposure is survivable because a lot is known about the supportive treatment that is necessary for a person to achieve some level of recovery
Sbowiegirl · 28/01/2021 09:50

But, I find the idea that there is circles of peadophiles in elite circles just difficult to believe.

Surely there are not that many people attracted to children? I just don’t get why they would do it, it’s disgusting. And why the media wouldn’t report on it

MagicSummer · 28/01/2021 09:52

I was intrigued by the question of the 52 States of the USA. Initially, I thought maybe Guam and Belize were once counted as 'States' but having read up on it, I see that Puerto Rico and the Federal District of Columbia were once (and sometimes still are) added to the list of 50, thus making 52.

@MarieIVanArkleStinks

I do have my suspicions that the masses are kept intentionally largely financially illiterate.

I'm with you on that. Dystopian fiction might only be fiction, but a lot is eerily prescient and the threat posed by an informed, educated populace is clear and present.

I visited the Imperial War Museum not long before lockdown and looked at the beautiful letters WWII evacuees had sent home to their parents. All had correct sentence construction, spelling and punctuation. Then I look at some of the work turned in by today's undergraduates and despair. Some of their writing is nowhere near up to that of those 8-year-olds whose very moving letters I saw.

If there was a concerted conspiracy to monumentally fuck up UK education to the highest degree possible, it couldn't have done a better job!

Agreed! The lack of understanding of basic, GCSE-level biology you see on facebook in regards to things like covid, "essential oils" or the latest MLM is shocking and concerning. Critical thinking skills seem to be getting lost.
sashh · 28/01/2021 09:53

What do you mean by this? As in what's a pusher?

I don't know about Bristol but in Manchester a number of gay men have been pulled out of the canal dead.

Travelling I always thought Diana died on way to hospital? I'm sure that's what I heard at time?

How do you define death? The ambulance staff said they stopped twice when she had cardiac arrests, so technically she 'died' twice in the ambulance but her heart was restarted.

Kndg · 28/01/2021 09:53

Dunblane massacre where some of the papers relating to it were sealed for 100 years.
Diana, slightly suspicious. It's a pity that the only survivor Trevor Rees Jones has no memory of the crash.

I think there's an awful lot that governments keep hidden from the people. I'm not sure whether that's for benign or malign reasons.

www.slickcharts.com/sp500/returns

Here you are, yearly returns. 10% is very conservative, even taking into account 2008 financial crash and the correction after the dotcom boom in the 90s. For any two decade period over the last 50 years I think the average annual return would be 10-15% region.

Money saved in the bank is burning money. Given inflation in cost of living, any interest rate below 3-4% means your effectively losing money year on year. This is just investing for dummies level stuff by the way, my major is philosophy.

At the time it was indeed reported that, to quote the 'Independent', 'An anti-nerve agent drug never before used on a patient in the UK was administered to one of the Novichok victims to save his life, according to a top official in the emergency services'.

Of course, this all could be misinformation too, put out there in the media to discombobulate the Russians. Plant enough BS conflicting narratives out there and people will be running around like headless chickens with no idea of the 'truth' ...

Or maybe not. Grin

@Papatron
To answer your prior questions, people don’t retire often because they don’t want to. Tony Blair is still working despite his £20 million property portfolio. And people start businesses to make money. But there’s more than one way to skin a cat.

Trying researching further than the BBC.[/quote]
I'm with you on this one. I've been 'green' and 'environmentalist' all my life - still am - and the 'climate change' movement has been stinking of fraud/mind control since it started to pick up pace 20 or so years ago.

I keep fairly quiet about my views, but feel great sadness as many of my friends have been sucked into it.

Non existence of Aliens
Moon landing has some really solid evidence against it
Plane landing in the Pentagon durong 9-11

Sbowiegirl · 28/01/2021 10:22

I think there are genuine aliens. But in life forms not like ours:

CleverCatty · 28/01/2021 10:26

not sure about most conspiracy theories but think Jeffrey Epstein isn't a suicide and Diana was knocked off. Most people I know think that re Diana.

I was partying in a club called The Cross when we first heard Diana had been in a car crash but she was expected to survive.

ArrrMeHearties · 28/01/2021 10:27

I agree with the theories about Diana and epstein. There is so much that us the general public will not get to know about

fromdownwest · 28/01/2021 10:27

I agree, with the infinite size of the universe, thinking we are the only existence is limited in thinking.

I am not saying big green men, even if it is a single cell organism.

Joe Rogan Experience #1315 - Bob Lazar & Jeremy Corbell

This is a very interesting watch.

Wouldratherbeanywhereelse · 28/01/2021 10:28

What’s the one about Stephen fry? 🤷🏻‍♀️

CleverCatty · 28/01/2021 10:29

@Pimlicojo

I'm just a little bit younger than Diana and clearly remember the period leading up to her death. She spent that summer courting the paparazzi and posing on yachts in the Med. I seem to remember that a couple of weeks before her death she said something like 'wait until you see what I'm going to do next' to the press. She was very unpopular and getting negative press and perceived by many as behaving very foolishly.

And then she died. And now she's the eternally beautiful young princess. We'll never know what she or her life would be like now.

So there was no benefit in her being killed by anyone. I think she got into a car being driven by a drunk driver who drove too fast. And didn't wear a seatbelt.

Of course there was a benefit to her being killed! She was dating a Muslim and the Royals were worried she'd have his baby.

She was also quite kamikaze in what she said and did, whether it was the Martin Bashir interview, posing on yachts in the Med etc. I think the RF thought she was becoming an embarrassment to them.

What CleverCatty said.

dottiedodah · 28/01/2021 10:32

Im ancient .Sorry yes of course that is true, but their husbands were not next in line to be King Of England! I dont know if Diana was murdered obv .However in the months leading to her death she felt as though she was being followed .Maybe some truth in it ,maybe not .

I don't think that suspect. The 'pop' is clearly from a camera or someone behind the camera.

When I was pregnant with my first at about that stage I was able to crouch up and down no problem - I was a yoga enthusiast and very fit so assumed that helped. I think she's was just a fit first time mum. 🤷‍♀️

KarensChoppyBob · 28/01/2021 10:32

And Epstein if allowed to go to court could have been even more 'embarrassing'.

SushiSoozie · 28/01/2021 10:35

Many people also remember watching Nelson Mandela’s funeral on tv in the early 90s but he didn’t die till 2013

They remember watching his release from prison, and mix it up with his funeral.

People are, on the whole, quite stupid. And self-centred. So they make mistakes and then convince them selves that rather than they got something wrong, the entire universe changed and that they remember correctly but some other outside force changed history and made their true memories not real any more.
I mean, how narcissistic can a theory be? Not the mandela effect, the imbecilic narcissist effect...call it the Trump effect maybe?

And all these conspiracy theorists...sheesh. Have we had an invasion from netmums again>

DedlyMedally · 28/01/2021 10:36

Epstein killing himself is a weird one. It was very convenient and he did it by kneeling in the floor and and aggressively abdominal crunching from what I've read.
You would have to have pretty steely nerves to do that. Even if he did kill himself, the sex-trafficking, paedophilia and connections to power are pretty suspect in and of itself.
Prince Andrew seems to be the only "associate" who got grilled and nothing has come of it.
