Does anyone feel prettier in their glasses, and how do you feel about that?

I think I do, but don't want to feel ugly when I'm not wearing them!

I feel more attractive in my glasses. I've worn them for about forty years now and would feel odd without them now.

Amigoingmad29weeks · 24/01/2021 18:58

Same as pp. I've worn mine since primary school. They suit me. And I rarely see my face without them so that's ok. Xx

MorrisZapp · 24/01/2021 18:58

I recently got contact lenses so I could be ravishingly attractive. I binned them after three days because without glasses it turns out I look like a lost mole. Who knew that all these years my glasses had been giving my face definition and structure.

PollyannaWhittier · 24/01/2021 19:02

Yes, but I think it's because I'm not used to seeing myself without glasses; and also when I take them off I screw my face up trying to see, which isn't exactly attractive Grin

OnceIWasAnApe · 24/01/2021 19:05

I got my first pair since childhood about six months ago, and I do feel more attractive in them- I think they cover my crows' feet better than Botox might do!

Shaniac · 24/01/2021 19:07

I look better without mine, but older i think. But my eyesights really bad so i mostly live in glasses.

M0rT · 24/01/2021 19:08

I started wearing glasses for distance, so driving, cinema etc about 10 years ago. At first I thought not more attractive or less just me with glasses.
Now I need them for the screen when I'm working and I look much better on Zoom with glasses!
I think it's because I'm older and my eyes have sunk but the glasses make then look bigger and hide some of the black circles.

RickJames · 24/01/2021 19:11

Yes, Zoom has made me hate my face so anything covering it or distorting it is a blessing!

burfordbrown · 24/01/2021 19:12

I think mine make my eyes a little bigger and hide the dark rings somehow

My glasses cover the black marks under my eyes so I feel younger in them. It is also possible the black marks are not so bad now I'm not straining to see all the time...

AmelieTaylor · 24/01/2021 19:13

Yes. I've only had them for a year & mostly for driving (but good for briefing charts on tv too) add in a cloth mask that suits my colouring and hey,,,great improvement.

Guess it hides the worst of the wrinkles and emphasises my eyes. I'm still happy enough without them though. Good or bad it's my face & I'm used to it 🤷🏻‍♀️ If people are going to bitch about me, they'll definitely start with features other than my face 🤷🏻‍♀️

peapotter · 24/01/2021 19:13

I look prettier without my glasses, in a soft and feminine sense.

With them I look funkier. Not ugly.

I’m not a big fan of “pretty”.

Rockettrain · 24/01/2021 19:14

Yep, makes your eyes look bigger and also more defined. Negates need for eye make up to some extent.

TDMN · 24/01/2021 19:14

I prefer my face with glasses! But i've worn them since i was 4 so that makes sense. I just wish i spent more time not going for 'safe' options and going for more standout frames.

Shaniac · 24/01/2021 19:17

I look like leon trotsky in my glasses. And i always seem to see gorgeous ones online and shit ones on my face.

Spodge · 24/01/2021 19:17

I used to wear frames that were as inconspicuous as possible and they aged me no end. Now I wear quite large, dark-rimmed glasses and I look way better with them than without. Plus I don't need to bother with eye make up for some reason.

Itstheprinciple · 24/01/2021 19:20

I prefer me in glasses but as PP have said, it's what I'm used to as I've had them so long. I used to hate them when I was younger but now I have nice frames that is 'me. I even wore my glasses on my wedding day as that was me.

I have tried contact lenses and I do wear them for a change sometimes but I'm not that bothered.

Unlike others, my prescription makes my eyes look smaller so make up is needed but I wear make up anyway and that's part of me too!

What's wrong with pretty?

Hate them. But that might be because I need the milk bottle base type.

LApprentiSorcier · 24/01/2021 19:25

I can't say I look 'prettier' because by no stretch of the imagination am I pretty with or without glasses, but I believe now I'm middle-aged I look slightly younger and smarter in my glasses - they hide my eye bags and make my face look more put-together.

Cuntitinthebin · 24/01/2021 19:25

I find most people far more attractive when they wear glasses.

Sirzy · 24/01/2021 19:26

I feel I do but I think that’s because I have worn them since I was 11 so they are me now.

Itstheprinciple · 24/01/2021 19:27

This made me laugh!
Stellaris22 · 24/01/2021 19:27

I do. Struggled in my teenage years to be able to wear them instead of contact lenses. Parents wouldn't let me leave the house if I tried to wear my glasses.

It's not just about glasses making me feel prettier, but comfort too.

FredaFox · 24/01/2021 19:28

I feel like something is missing when I don't have mine on
Definitely think I'm more attractive with them
