What i found in teenage sons room

Ok I was rearranging and tidying my sons room while he is at his fathers. I was changing his bedside cabinet for a smaller one and in doing so I was sorting and tidying his underwear and socks. I saw a sock that was dirty (the sole) so took it out to throw in the pile of washing, as thought he had shoved it in by mistake. This is where it gets weird, I found a thong inside the sock that's not mine and looks like he was wanted into it!! Ds is 14 and the only other woman it could belong to is his dads wife. I'm now petrified that he's going to be a weirdo or that there is something mentally wrong with him, my anxiety is through the roof and I don't know what to do about it, I don't know what I'm looking for by posting this maybe some reassurance or an explanation as to why he would I dunno ,please help me out

This reeks of fishing for stories.
You've been told countless times that this is normal behaviour OP. You have your majority answer. What is it you're wanting from this thread now?

WhydoesItAlwaysRainMe · 23/01/2021 15:49

Some of these replies are hilarious Grin
I agree though, give the lad some privacy

hiredandsqueak · 23/01/2021 15:49

This is the very reason that you make teens clean their own room. Whatever you do, do not turn the mattress over there will be far worse under there. When my ds moved out and was helping him pack, he advised I went and got a cuppa whilst he put anything dodgy in a black bag with good reason I imagine.

LouLou198 · 23/01/2021 15:50

I wouldn't assume it was stolen, wasn't he in school September to December? Just leave it, don't embarrass him,

Butterfly44 · 23/01/2021 15:50

So he stole her thong as it's all he has access to. Does not matter who it belongs to for him. Just wants the item.

Hm2020 · 23/01/2021 15:52

I found the exact same in my ex partners draw not even joking a thong huffed in a pair of socks now that really was a worry. Son not so much

Godimabitch · 23/01/2021 15:52

Even if they are hers, so what?! He's 14, saw some sexy knickers that smelled of vagina and pocketed them, and hid them so he could wank in them. He's 14, they can be a bit gross.
Give him his privacy, stop going in his room, stop going through his draws, and if you see a single sock, dont look at or touch it.

DWPmisery1972 · 23/01/2021 15:54

It’s really not ok to steal your step mums knickers. If my step son stole mine I’d be furious.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 23/01/2021 15:55

Fake post

DedlyMedally · 23/01/2021 15:55

Even if it was his stepmother's, it wouldn't be weird. Still a bit gross maybe, but not abnormal. She's probably one of the most intimate, non-familial relationships he has.
My mother has been married to a man who isn't my father since primary school. I've never really thought of him as my family, just my mother's husband.

Rule No.1 for whenever you accidentally stumble across something in your teen’s bedroom...

What i found in teenage sons room
Grendalsmum · 23/01/2021 15:56

Standard teenage stuff - they're gross and l suspect we'd have been the same if we'd had internet and Amazon back in the dark ages!

midnightstar66 · 23/01/2021 15:56

Look he didnt buy it online, he is a very innocent 14 year old in the regard

Sorry that doesn't make much sense - you accept he's wanking in to socks and capable of stealing from (and in your view fantasising about) his step mum but you think he's too innocent to order a pair of pants from eBay?

hotpotlover · 23/01/2021 15:56

It's probably developmentally normal for a teenage boy to fantasise about all sorts of women, including their stepmother. Especially because there is a whole subdivision of porn online dedicated to the stepmother/mature woman fantasy.

I wouldn't be worried and I don't think that makes him a weirdo. Stop going through his drawers!

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 23/01/2021 15:57

Hello everyone. Understandably, we're getting...a few...reports in about this thread. While we can't ever be totally sure about anyone, unfortunately, we have no reason right now to think that the OP isn't genuine. Thank you. As you were.

SheldonesqueIsAnExVirgin · 23/01/2021 15:57

Better the thong than your face flannel.

Theshelfisboring · 23/01/2021 15:57

Teenage boy behaving like teenage boy shocker!

UrAWizHarry · 23/01/2021 15:59

He's a teenage boy experimenting like all teenage boys do.

Do what everyone else does in this situation, quietly put it back and never, ever speak of it.

Wyntersdiary · 23/01/2021 15:59

Stepmum porn is not an unusual thing so I wouldn't say he's wierd, not like she is actually related to him and its just a fantasy.

I wouldn't be worried about it. Move on.

relaxtakeiteasyeatcheese · 23/01/2021 16:00

Can you have a discrete word with his dad to ask if the thong belongs to his wife? It would be very weird if your ds stole his step mums underwear. Very concerning.

ChristmasSexyTime · 23/01/2021 16:00

He couldve ordered a used pair online (it's a thing, a friend of mine raised extra funds in uni by selling off used knickers). Or maybe a girl sent it to him.

Either way, I wouldn't be concerned. Just put it back from whence it came and never mention it again.

shittestxmasever · 23/01/2021 16:02

Omgosh just put it back as it was and forget about it. Can't you see from the many many replies you're getting that it's pretty normal behaviour?
Poor lad, leave him be

relaxtakeiteasyeatcheese · 23/01/2021 16:02

You really don't think it's a problem If he stole His step mums underwear ?
Undies1990 · 23/01/2021 16:02

You are completely over thinking this. Put it back, never mention it again and don't go rummaging through any teenagers drawers ever, ever, ever again.

Catdogmum · 23/01/2021 16:03

If it was inside a sock - could it have got stuck in there in the washing machine at his dad&stepmum’s and he didn’t notice it when he came to ahem use the sock?
