To get a welfare check on my neighbors?

My neighbors are usually up all night till 3am with their kids (they had two young children) screaming, running about, crying and it was every night, the children would scream and cry when they argue. Our walls are so thin I could hear them walking about.
When we first moved in they where arguing and I swear she was shouting for help.
They argue quite alot usually in their language.
I used to see them about on the street quite alot to.
A couple of days before Christmas they where arguing quite badly early hours of the morning (2/3am. Im up with my toddler every night so I always hear it)
But since then iv not heard anything, it's radio silent, literally not a peep since before Christmas. Their car is still parked outside, there's things still in their garden too so I don't think they've moved.only thing that's changed is their shed door is open (not been burgled).

Would you get in touch with 101 to get a welfare check? Just feels abit weird to me.

@PhilCornwall1

* The info we have learned is that they are in Albania and we didn't know that before, or that they couldn't get home quickly. That to me is my personal info. *

Yes, but you've not learned anything that will allow you to identify them.

Yesss someone who understands GDPR!

My exact words were 'GDPR or something'. Grin

FuriousWithTheNHS · 21/01/2021 14:18

@furiouswiththenhs so you could tell the difference between Latvian, Hungarian and Polish for instance?
I think your username says a lot about you...

No. That's probably why I didn't list Polish, Hungarian or Latvian in my list of languages I can recognise. Smile

And the only thing my user name tells you about me is that I am currently furious with the NHS. Smile

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 21/01/2021 15:30

It's obvious I didn't mean they could have been Chinese 🙄 and, I was actually right, she assumed they were Polish, and they actually weren't.
Furious with the NHS while they are working harder than they ever have, wow.

MaelyssQ · 21/01/2021 15:41

I'm glad your neighbours are well, OP, and nothing sinister has happened to them.
I still think a 101 call when the wife was heard shouting for help would have been useful - even if it was just an argument.

Happyfamily123 · 21/01/2021 18:40

@BullshitVivienne no not nosey just some one who years ago would have prayed for a welfare check!!

SciFiScream · 22/01/2021 11:41

@borageforager personal information is anything that lets you identify a person.

So my name online if you googled me, would let you identify me immediately.

If there are 2 people with your name in the UK we'd need one other piece of info to help identify YOU so your name is personal information too.

It's why all these places with list of names and telephone numbers when filling in a page for track and trace are breaking GDPR. All it takes is for someone to sneak a photo and they have names an contact details for everyone on the page.

CrotchBurn · 22/01/2021 13:44

I think it's weird Yhe police told you that. So now you could confidently burgle them?

SciFiScream · 22/01/2021 15:33

Yes they could confidently burgle them...but the Police Force could confidently know where to start their line of enquiry as in

Police Office 1 "who knew the property was vacant?"

Police Officer 2 "Well, actually WE just told the neighbours the property was vacant"

PO1 - "well let's go and speak to the neighbours first eh?"
