I actually think its a disappointing number, I would of expected it to be far higher than that given everyone was so happy to see Trump go.

Maybe Biden's crowd isn't Twitter obsessed? Maybe we have higher expectations of where public policy will be set and announced?

Maybe we have jobs and don't check Twitter all day?

Anyway... who cares... he's not on Twitter now as POTUS. If he comes back as DOOFUS he is just another twitter account and subject to all the Twitter guidelines that should have been applied before.

According to Trumps archived twitter he had 33million followers (at one point im sure he had 80million) but going with the archived account 30million, if all 30 million are his voters of which he had 70 million votes thats 42%.
Even Twitter admits that it only has 300 million live accounts
and most good estimates sat that less only a fraction of those are

so if the Donald had 80 million, then the vast vast majority were bots or Russian Bless

Former presidents are expected (and paid) to engage in Presidential duties for the rest of their lives.

Carter got a bye for this week because

• COVID

Nixon did not turn up to events because he was
disgraced

Trump did not turn up to his first required event

• the dignified transfer of power

He has already failed in the role
and to some extent impeachment will simplify things for both parties

The USA is far far greater than Trump, Qanon, the Tea Party or any single issue
it will move on
and with a good manager leading an amazing crew
will thrive

I would quite the US President to govern and lead rather than tweet thanks.

I'd like boring policy rather than attention seeking to a fan club or trying to wind people up.

So from that point of view id be pretty happy if we don't have the twitter Reality Show, Season 2 with new lead character.

If you judge how a World Leader is performing by followers on fucking twitter you are most definitely part of everything wrong in the world right now.

Boring = Good.

I'd like endless discussions about paint drying and fiscal policy and logistic planning and the details of various transatlantic trade discussions. And ANYTHING thats incompatible with just 280 characters.
