Of course yabu. It always belongs in the fridge!

ClangingChimesofDoom · 16/01/2021 19:33

Today I learned 58% of people are fucking insane.

OneSecond · 16/01/2021 19:34

Highest quality dark chocolate, at room temperature unless in a heatwave. This is the way!

Givemeabreak88 · 16/01/2021 19:34

Chocolate in the fridge is gross to me no no no

Staffy1 · 16/01/2021 19:34

It's horrible once it's been in a fridge. Softer chocolate is so much nicer than hard, tooth-breaking chocolate, and tastes better too.

Givemeabreak88 · 16/01/2021 19:34

Yanbu

ClangingChimesofDoom · 16/01/2021 19:35

I bet people who put chocolate in the fridge also put tomatoes in the fridge

This. Pretty sure it's then a teeny tiny step into full on murder-anarchy.

DenisetheMenace · 16/01/2021 19:35

It goes white if you leave it in the fridge. Mine has, anyway 🤷‍♀️

Oysterbabe · 16/01/2021 19:36

Yanbu. My DH puts it in the fridge too. But I suppose if you smash it down like a labrador it doesn't make much difference if it doesn't taste of anything.

OneSecond · 16/01/2021 19:36

And definitely no dunking! 😱

Ticklemynickel · 16/01/2021 19:37

Wispa, twirl, fancy dark chocolate, chocolate buttons, mars and flakes all taste best after being in the fridge. Every thing else is fine in the cupboard.

I've done extensive testing.

Rooroobear · 16/01/2021 19:41

If it’s Cadbury’s caramel then definitely in the fridge.....I like it when the caramel is harder and softens in your mouth yum x

joystir59 · 16/01/2021 19:42

Store it in the fridge if you want, but bring it to room temperature to eat it ffs..chocolate dipped in a cup of coffee and then licked or sucked is amazing.

legalseagull · 16/01/2021 19:43

@Englishrosegarden

I make chocolate for a living. You should never keep it in a fridge, it's best at room temperature. Keeping it in a fridge or freezer ruins the flavour and texture.
The voice of reason!

My 'D' H ruins our chocolate by putting it in the fridge. It loses the taste and doesn't melt in your mouth.

4cats2kids · 16/01/2021 19:43

Only in a heatwave.

Sparklingbrook · 16/01/2021 19:44

Chocolate in the fridge always. Chocolate digestives in the freezer.

BeeyatchPlease · 16/01/2021 19:48

YANBU!!!!
DH and I frequently argue about this. He also maintains that tomato sauce ought to live in the fridge. It's a wonder I married him actually, now I come to think of it!

SlopesOff · 16/01/2021 19:49

@georgarina

YANBU

It goes waxy and tasteless if it's in the fridge!

If it contains palm oil will be waxy and tasteless anyway.
BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 16/01/2021 19:50

@House83

Easier to hide from small children in a fridge. Easier to hide from husband in the salad drawer of the fridge.
I came to say exactly this - House83 captures the zeitgeist of family life but individual chocolate.
SlopesOff · 16/01/2021 19:50

It doesn't last long enough to be stored anywhere. However, the only chocolate I have stored in the fridge or freezer was After Eights but they are rubbish now so no longer buy them.

I like warm chocolate, dissolved slowly on my tongue.

Msfoxy17 · 16/01/2021 19:53

Think it depends a bit on the chocolate being eaten and also time of year. In the summer I quite like chocolate that's been in the fridge but in winter I dont bother.. husband is dead against ever putting in fridge- a travesty!

Msfoxy17 · 16/01/2021 19:54

For example I would put a cheap bar of chocolate in, but never nice chocolates or truffles or similar..

hexarola · 16/01/2021 19:54

YANBU, apart from Mars bars, I always keep those in the fridge. All other chocolate goes in the cupboard.

chipperfish · 16/01/2021 20:00

Mars bars are horrible at room temperature
Can only be eaten either melted over icecream or frozen and cut into wafer thin slices

SlopesOff · 16/01/2021 20:02

Mars bars should be sucked slowly...
