In the U.K. I mostly agree with you, though I personally prefer anything with mint in it to be a little colder and for chocolate to be kept on the cold side of room temp.

DH got a shock, though, when he went to present my dad with a chocolate Easter bilby on their first meeting in Australia. It had totally melted into the corner of its box because he’d left it in his bag.

YANBU. Cupboard all the way. Had never come across fridge-stored chocolate until I met DH. His whole family does it and 15 years on it still annoys me.

It depends which chocolate it is. Being colder slows down the eating which increases the enjoyment. Combined with a cup of tea it can be bliss.

Galaxy, wispa, rolos, generic chocolate bars all go in fridge.

My Dsis use to freeze her chocolate when on her diet it would last longer.

I usually keep chocolate in a cupboard, the only time it goes in the fridge is when we get the (few) mad hot days in summer. If I keep it in the cupboard then it’s a gooey melty mess within seconds of opening it!

Room temperature chocolate is yuk. It melts on the tongue like a piece from a warm arse crack.

Freezer! Especially mint Aeros. Nom. Good chocolate goes in a cupboard though.
