I'm pretty low on money at the moment and as such I'm trying to keep all spending to an absolute minimum. I've written out a budget and am trying my very best to stick to it.

But. I've made a mistake! Last time I did a big food shop I pre prepped and batch cooked everything so I have about 3 weeks worth of meals in the freezer ready to go. Even prepped all my veggies so they would last longer in the freezer. Unfortunately though I forgot to leave anything out for dinner tonight so I have nothing out except 2 pieces of bread, some cuppa soups and some cheap instant noodles 😭

Wibu to cut into my food budget and get a takeaway for tonight? I can stretch it to 2 meals to make it better value for money 😁

Our local pizza place does an amazing stone baked pizza for £7

For £10 it comes with cheezy garlic bread and a bottle of pop... Delivery free to your door

The most recent time I got a kebab I did make it last 2 meals, there was SO much chicken in it, it didn't even all fit in the pitta 😂

Last time I got a pizza (which was aaaaages ago, they don't deliver to where I live now 😞) I got a 2 for Tuesdays deal and I literally ate pizza for about a week. I made it last!

I don't get takeaway very often but when I do I try to get my money's worth.

How does one kebab last 3 meals? How big are the kebabs where you live?

I’m amazed that people get large kebabs for £5?! Take it you are not in London! They are so expensive hear over £10 you would be looking at for a large kebab, round here chip shops are the cheapest.

can’t believe how different it is down here! I’ve just looked at a place on Uber eats near me and a small kebab on its own is £7.50

South east here, kebabs start at £9.50 and chips are extra.

@Tier10 £9.50 here gets you a fancy handmade burger with all the toppings plus sweet potato fries

If I want a cheap takeaway I get a chippy - our family of 5 can eat for about £15. For 1 person chips and a sausage would only be a few quid.

This is barely going to cover one portion of fish (haddock) & chips here!

A kebab here is around £7.50 - £9.50

Fish (cod) and chips is around £7.50 too

There’s 3 of us so a take away can cost around £25+

We tend to just have a take away for special occasions like the dc’s birthdays, Christmas Eve etc.. or if I’m unwell and can’t physically cook.

The cheapest take away is probably McDonald’s but we don’t have one within a 10 mile radius.

Yes I did and it was delicious 😋

Our Indians does a family meal deal on a Saturday night. 2 starters,2 main dishes, 2 rice dishes, 2 naans or chips, onion salad and poppadoms for £15.00 feeds 5 of us for 2 days.

I got a Chinese, it's the only one close enough that I could get free delivery and I could make my own rice to go with it 😁
