I think now would be a very bad time to move these threads over to a very quiet board like Politics. In AIBU they are easy to find - and they are very, very topical at present.

I'm not surprised it's cycling who's pushing this idea though, given that their implication that the left was as bad as the right on the 6th of January because 0.005% of those in the Capitol (approximately) were self-proclaimed left wingers didn't get much traction.

Let's keep the threads where they are and review after the inauguration OK? (if MNHQ are watching)

After 4 long years, if not longer, as I seem to remember these threads started during the run-up to the 2016 election, Trump threads have been posted on AIBU

5 years plus actually. Apart from a couple of threads back in the day.

There were a lot of threads about the 2016 US election all over the boards at the time, naturally enough.

What ended up as this series of deliberately linked threads emerged from one of those, as posters coalesced.

I'd agree AIBU has become a catch all for most topics tbh.

Hiding us away in politics won't stop Trump being a collosal twice impeached twat though.

I think the only reason to move threads is if people want to avoid them (Brexit, Covid), or if people would find them more easily or get a better response somewhere else.

I'm just getting links to AirB'n'B cancellations in the DC area over the inauguration period! Have I missed something, please? Will the inauguration actually happen on the ground, "in person" as usual, or will it be socially distanced and on camera, mostly because of Covid but also because of the domestic terrorist threat?

We hae had 200,000 posts (more in fact) with probably about 2 deletions, no problems, nothing. A couple of times MNHQ have come on here and commended the way these hundreds of threads have been civil and they have complimented us on how we conduct ourselves on here.

So I suggest you carry on reporting if you are unhappy about this. And respect whatever decision MNHQ makes. If we have to move, we will.
