Completely agree, @cyclingmad, I've never understood why these Trump threads have been posted under the AIBU banner, rather than Politics.
Does anyone who has been here since Trump thread #1 remember? I mean, presumably the first few threads must have been: "AIBU for thinking Trump is a massive Orange arsehole who will destroy the USA if the American people are idiotic enough to elect him?" and it just carried on from there.

I'd disagree about much of AIBU being deemed politics, @ListeningQuietly Makes no sense to me, I'm afraid, politics is the right place for Trumpton stuff, as far as I'm concerned! I wouldn't expect a whole board for him as this is a UK based forum. Never mind, with any luck it will all be over soon and there will be a quiet, gentle, undramatic, Biden nook on the Politics board!

There have always been political type threads on AIBU. I get what you mean, that it isn't exactly an AIBU question, but AIBU tends to be used for traffic, as this is where you get the most response,

Oh, FFS, how stupid to report it. After 4 long years, if not longer, as I seem to remember these threads started during the run-up to the 2016 election, Trump threads have been posted on AIBU. No need to change now. Anyhow, Trump is the most unreasonable person of all so he deserves to be here (see how I've just talked myself out of these threads being on the Politics board?!).

Yes, it did indeed start with an AIBU thread. I think that was when Chat threads disappeared after 90 days, and we realised early on the importance of the record not being deleted.

MN topics have been overhauled since then, and Chat now no longer disappears.

There was some early discussion of whether to go in other sections. Can't remember why we stayed here. Continuity was considered important. It's also only the one thread at a time, and we had no idea there would end up being so many in total.

I'm happy for these to stay in AIBU because that's where everyone knows to look for them.

Meanwhile, cyclingmad, you're up and down MN playing Covid-disinformationist and "I'm not a Trumpie but...".
