Just seen a post on FB where people are talking about a scene from a film/TV series that has stuck in their minds.....seeing some of them has brought back some pretty scary memories.

Mine is the scene from Salems Lot where the vampire floats up to the window, taps on it and rasps "let me in".

Took me years after that to look out the window in the dark Hmm
Does anyone else have "fond" memories??

Which Luther series is the under the bed scene from please?

charliebear78 · 15/01/2021 20:27

I have posted on these type of threads before about mine-No one else seems to have ever seen it.
I actually loved Watership Down as a child so rented another Richard Adams one-The Plague Dogs.
The end scene is just so sad and I still remember it to this day
I am a huge Animal Lover and anything involving animals gets to me!!!

Watched a few Horrors over the Years but non I can really remember bothering me as much as that did.

ElDavidmeister · 15/01/2021 21:03

Sydney's mum coming to the window in Scream 3, something about windows and dead people.

SwankyPants · 15/01/2021 21:34

Anyone remember Armchair Thriller? There was an episode with nuns, and one in a rocking chair.
Tooms from X Files.
Grave Encounters is set in an abandoned asylum. Very creepy

Meowchickameowmeow · 15/01/2021 22:05

Was it Quiet as a Nun, when she turns around she has no face? I wet the bed after seeing that!

Has anyone seen Us?

That’s pretty creepy!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 16/01/2021 08:50

Purple I loved Us. One of the best creepy films of recent years. Jordan Peele is a very clever director.
One of my favourite parts was the use of that song (I got 5 on it, I think it's called?) throughout, It's very jarring. When she's singing along in the car and she's just off key then when it's used for the ballet dance.

It's one of those films I was googling for days after! Think I'll def watch it again.

PurpleFlower1983 · 16/01/2021 08:54

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz I agree! Must watch it again! Jordan Peele is excellent, I loved Get Out - my DH and I went to see it at the cinema when it was first released knowing nothing about it and were like wtf? I’ve just seen that he’s remaking Candyman this year!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 16/01/2021 09:10

The reaction in the cinema when I saw it was odd as like you, I don't think anyone knew what to expect. When the Tethered start visiting homes there were a few laughs in the carnage which I think helped everyone's tension so there was lots of laughing out loud but not because we thought it was daft, ITSWIM? When they try to use Alexa for help Grin There was so much buzz as we all left with everyone chatting about it.

Yes Get Out was excellent too although weirdly my first reaction was it was just too far fetched but again , I was obsessed with googling it for a few days after and when I reflected, decided I loved it. JP had a few homages to classic horrors like The Shining in it so I enjoyed spotting those.

And what is it about rabbits in his films?!!!

Would love to see his interpretation of Candyman. Although I'll once again avoid mirrors in a dark room for a few years after!! Grin

Tanith · 16/01/2021 10:17

@roxanne119 If it's the one with David Warner in, that's the first of the stories in "From Beyond The Grave".

ageingdisgracefully · 16/01/2021 10:28

Does anyone remember Singing Ringing Tree from the 60s? Children's programme but I was terrified. Horrible dwarf and nasty Princess. Freaks me out just thinking about it.

Tanith · 16/01/2021 10:33

I'd forgotten, but there are two window scenes in Salem's Lot! Shock
No wonder we were all terrified!

The first one, and scariest, is Ralphie Glick, who is invited in and attacks his brother. It doesn't happen in the book.

The second scene is the now vampiric Danny Glick trying the same thing on with Mark Petrie.
Mark is a horror film fan and knows exactly what to do. He swipes dear, departed Danny with a plastic cross from his model graveyard to get rid of him.

Tanith · 16/01/2021 10:35

Agingdisgracefully Yes, I do! It was a German translated programme, wasn't it? I think they have a few episodes on Youtube.

Barefootinthecarpark · 16/01/2021 10:47

Foghead

Same as you op. That scene really terrified me.
Another one was a film with a warped child who was tormenting her/a family. I can’t remember the details but she picked up a pizza cutter and slowly rolled it across the walls on her way to do her evil deeds.
That scene just disturbed me so much.

That was a Dennis Weaver film called ‘Don’t Go to Sleep’. Scared the shit out of me.

@tanith: yes, there are episodes and clips on YouTube. I tried to watch one earlier - one with the goldfish in- and I couldn't carry on. I think it's the cruelty that gets to me. Sad. That horrible creepy dwarf... Shock

Blimey! That takes me back!

The Princess learned to be good eventually didn't she? the dwarf was as creepy as heck.

roxanne119 · 16/01/2021 16:32

@tanith don’t know but the murderer is released from the mirror out of the corner of your eye . Just really crept me out won’t let my kids buy second hand either 🤭 it’s real .

Anyone watched The 100? We're late to the party (it's on Prime) and DD was raving about watching it. I assumed it was just another teen drama ...

Christ, there's scenes of medical experiments on kids who are awake. Actually drilling into legs.

Really brutal stuff, aimed at young teens.

There are lighter episodes of course where it's just savage fighting with blood spraying all over the shop ... Confused

Ddot · 16/01/2021 19:25

The 100
Crazed drugged up cannibalism, death by 1000 cuts, robotic death house, death by daylight, poisonous nuts, freaky creatures. Yes it is rather brutal
