Are they exempt or in a bubble or something?

@Lastfreakinglegs

I'm not making any moral judgements about content. I'm just saying unless all the cast and crew and guests on set are living in a giant hotel together, surely they risk airborne transmission of the virus. I'm just surprised it's permitted when any other kind of meeting up is not allowed. I'm sure they're following protocols but they must be getting taxis in and out everyday?
I don't know where to start with this...

Nothing on tv is essential bar the evening news but if the cast and crew can be socially distanced (Covid secure) the why not?

Holly and Phil is no worse than Eastenders or The Masked Singer being on

Frickinfreezinginthishouse · 13/01/2021 15:01

They’re so annoying..no matter where they’re sat

MiddleClassProblem · 13/01/2021 15:01

The crew all have to wear masks.

You do understand that most people who worked in tv productions were not able to access any kind of furlough support and had work cancelled. Even when things started back up again there wasn’t a lot out there and lots of new restrictions meant some shows really couldn’t come back. The only work job I was mean to do last year would have been 3 days filming on location, 2 days in the office for prep over 10 weeks which became being away from home for 6 weeks (not the longest away stint in the field but very long if you were only meant to be away 3 day at a time) and I turned it down because I didn’t want to be away from DD for so long and it would have been a lot of pressure on DH whilst working. I was lucky I could afford the choice as others couldn’t as it would be their only job of the year so basically a fifth of their normal income.

Plenty have had to give up and try to find full time work in other fields and may never be able to go back. It’s not the saddest tale of 2020 but a lot that complain about it would be moaning even more if tv production ceased and it was just repeats and the news in tv. It would also mean a lot less money when it did return and with less of a pool of crew to hire from. The quality would be a lot lower.

I’d say they’re worse than Eastenders & The masked singer..and that’s saying something 🤣

Greyclock · 13/01/2021 15:09

Cancel ALL TV and Radio programmes RIGHT NOW as @Lastfreakinglegs seems them non essential.

Henceforth we shall only watch The News.

Rossfaketan · 13/01/2021 15:15

Awful people. Bring back E & R

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2021 15:18
