Are they exempt or in a bubble or something?

OP posts:
RaspberryCoulis · 13/01/2021 11:35

@Lastfreakinglegs

Further question. Is there programme really essential? No mask wearing, guests etc.
No you're right OP. It's not essential. The ONLY thing which should be on telly is the news. Maybe with Chris Whitty popping up every so often to look sombre. and that bloke from Imperial College who predicts millions of people dead.

Everyone KNOWS that if you're enjoying yourself, or being entertained, the virus has a chance to spread. The ONLY way of stopping this is to stay at home at all times, eat gruel, and never do anything which risks cracking a smile.

In fact OP I think you should get off MN now as it's not essential, is it?

London1977 · 13/01/2021 11:35

@DecemberSun

Can't stand the programme but no one is catching the virus by watching it.

OP, shouldn't you be teaching your out of school kids and not watching TV?

This. Or complaining that your free lunch packs are too small.
ancientgran · 13/01/2021 11:36

I am having a non essential sit on the sofa with a cuppa now, plus an After Eight mint or two. I've eaten all mine. Feeling jealous now.

Quaagars · 13/01/2021 11:36

No idea why put baskins name twice on my post there Blush

DH found two boxes somewhere left over from Christmas. Grin
BeeDavis · 13/01/2021 11:38

Are you actually this stupid 🙃🙃

EffOrf · 13/01/2021 11:39

I am going to have to wind it back now to watch the Grange Hill bit

I suggest OP pops off to her corner for some self flagellation for watching This Morning.

SmellyPooHead · 13/01/2021 11:39

After eights are on my regular shopping list, I consider them essential

Quaagars · 13/01/2021 11:40

@Sparklingbrook

At the moment Phil Vickery is about to give advice to a parent to make her free food box go further. That's good isn't it?
FREE FOOD BOX?! Don't they know they should be grateful and have a GCE in "Getting Wot They're Given" and Knowing How To Cook anyway?!

joke post but sadly reminiscent of some of the posts on MN

I guess we need the opium of the masses more than ever before.

Isn't that religion?

No television is absolutely "essential" - well, maybe the school programs on the BBC - but I would miss it enormously, especially at the moment.
But then, I'm not watching morning television at the moment and you are.
Do you not see yourself as part of the masses?

Mrsjayy · 13/01/2021 11:41

I've one box of after 8s left I destroyed my Lilly O'Brien's last night watching the Pembrokeshire murders .so the after8s tonight.

Biker47 · 13/01/2021 11:41

@Lastfreakinglegs

Hmm seems to be different rules for celebrity to the masses.
Guess you think it's just celebrities that film, edit and broadcast it as well, guess they must man the canteen, maintain the sets and sweep the floor as well? Ohh no, those are normal people with normal jobs, trying to survive.
iklboo · 13/01/2021 11:42

I did need a wee but you have apparently taken the piss.

Rooroobear · 13/01/2021 11:44

Really???? Is this what it’s come down too?? Complaining whether or not it’s essential or whether they’re sitting too close together!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Quartz2208 · 13/01/2021 11:46

You sound OP like the people who complained that Ruth and Eamonn were sitting next to each other. The amount of times they had to explain they were married!

Ugzbugz · 13/01/2021 11:52

For gods sake they are 2 metres apart.

They have kept people sane for months for something to watch.

I can't stay 2 metres apart from people in 1 of my jobs, call the fucking police on me.

Shall we call them on the gas men I saw fixing the road who coudnt be 2 metres apart or all just die in a has explosion?

I actually am beginning to despise people, maybe we should be wiped out as the world seems to be a bunch of nasty arseholes anyway. People cant be nice or even look after animals or the planet.

StanfordPines · 13/01/2021 11:54

If you are so much better than everyone else why are you watching This Morning anyway? You should be busy home schooling.
burnoutbabe · 13/01/2021 11:55

i wonder how many people, watched all the ITV morning shows over xmas. We couldn't go and visit family so just 2 of us there, But we enjoyed watching Piers and Susannahm then lorraine and then holly and Phil, then I think James martin. It made me pleased how they came into work, to provide some community type spirit for what was a very quiet, different xmas for most people.

saffire · 13/01/2021 11:55

@Lastfreakinglegs

We can't even send our kids to school but they can come on and talk about fashion tips etc.
If you don't like it switch it off.
dingit · 13/01/2021 12:02

Anybody watch Junior Bake off? They all socially distance when they approach the judges, but when the first little guy got voted off they were all in front of him comforting him.
I tend to watch out for all these things as it fascinates me and I'm convinced a lot of it is for show. You can bet your life off screen all the cast and crew have coffee together.
And don't get me started on the bunch of maskless twats in HoC Hmm

ArnoJambonsBike · 13/01/2021 12:03

@ExclamationPerfume

It's a split screen. They are 2 metres apart.
Next you'll be telling me that the teams on University Challenge don't sit above each other.
Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2021 12:04

I watch GMB in bed on my enormous bedroom telly. Don't tell anyone on MN though-two terrible things in one sentence.

SoupDragon · 13/01/2021 12:05

Next you'll be telling me that the teams on University Challenge don't sit above each other.

When I was a child I genuinely used to think that they did 😂

Lovely1a2b3c · 13/01/2021 12:05

They're 2 metres apart but they've got a split screen- you can see this because Phil's right hand/arm and Holly's left arm disappear every now and then if they reach to that side.

They keep anyone in the show more than 2 metres away and a lot of completely isolated people find a lot of comfort in watching it every morning.

dingit · 13/01/2021 12:07

I always though university challenge contestants sat like that. It wasn't until I saw a Rick Mayal sketch and Dh explained it that I realised Grin
