Are they exempt or in a bubble or something?

Jesus 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2021 10:32

I’m back to work on Monday. It’s probably for the best. 😂

vodkaredbullgirl · 13/01/2021 10:33

Looking forward to Loose Women.

AiryFairy1 · 13/01/2021 10:33

@Sparklingbrook I hope it was worth getting out if the bath for, I’m quite jealous of a lovely bath during the day- the height of decadence Grin

@vodkaredbullgirl

Looking forward to Loose Women.
Depends who is on the panel for me.
vodkaredbullgirl · 13/01/2021 10:34

I don't mind who is on.

BrumBoo · 13/01/2021 10:34

Just don't watch it. You'll find yourself a more chilled out person, and will have saved many braincells. Win win.

I am still in it. I never have a bath in the day generally but everyone’s out so they’ll never know.
I am wondering if I need to get dressed after. I’ve nowhere to be going. Grin

Sometimes, and this may blow your mind, things on TV aren't exactly as they seem.

AcornAutumn · 13/01/2021 10:35

@Lastfreakinglegs

We can't even send our kids to school but they can come on and talk about fashion tips etc.
I don't believe in any lockdown but this thread demonstrates my point...at least if they stopped programmes, people might wake up and realise they are being played.

Reported. For scaremongering .

Does your kids going to school provide entertainment and comfort for 100000s of people who are alone and isolated? No? Didn’t think so.
TwirlingTwizzler · 13/01/2021 10:38

Essential television? The worlds gone mad.

This Morning and Loose Women got me through many hours of mind numbingly boring breastfeeding so I imagine it's getting lots through the boredom of staying home.

Kettles are essential to many, can you imagine the increase in accidents if people are trying to pour from a pan containing boiling water? And for many they're a means of keeping warm when gas prices are high and having the heating on whilst wfh or furloughed.

Can openers, again essential, although I need an electric one because I can't use a manual one and can't pull those ring top ones either.

vodkaredbullgirl · 13/01/2021 10:39

Op you better get back to home schooling, instead of watching This Morning.

Fieldofyellowflowers · 13/01/2021 10:39

You could argue that a lot of programmes that are filming or have been filmed since March aren't essential, the soaps, call the midwife, the chase etc etc to name just a few.

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2021 10:40

I saw a bit of Emmerdale last week. Characters are having affairs without laying a finger on each other. 😂

oh the bastards! Offering some light entertainment which can be used for people to feel less alone, less isolated and cut of the world, and/or as a distraction whilst sick on their sofa or their hospital bed.

seems to be different rules for celebrity to the masses.
You do know that the masses who cannot work from home are still working in their regular work places don't you.

Go for a walk, you need some fresh air. That is allowed too

TheMethodicalMeerkat · 13/01/2021 10:41

Oh ffs more Covid policing 🙄. Who gives a fuck if the programme is essential, it’s entertainment for people, many of whom need the distraction.

Other than the news, what tv programmes are actually essential? And if it’s so important to you that only the most absolutely essential bits of life can happen why even turn on the tv? Surely you should be content to sit on your couch, eating gruel and thinking positive thoughts for the NHS while you stare at the wall Hmm.

I’m sick to death of the po-faced COVID obsessives banging on about the rulez. If people really must drone on the least they could do is fuck off to the topic created especially for their judging, whining, catastrophizing and rule inventing and leave the rest of us in peace.

user1493413286 · 13/01/2021 10:41

You can’t send your kids to school because there’s no social distancing in schools and the government don’t care enough about children to work out a way around it.
I’d you’re going to say it’s not an essential show then we’ll all be watching the news and repeats as nothing new could be made and even more people will be out of work even though it can be done socially distanced

JohnMiddleNameRedactedSwanson · 13/01/2021 10:41

It is a split screen. Good Morning Britain do it too. In December they had even framed the shots so that they each had exactly half of the Christmas tree in the background.

Potatoespuds · 13/01/2021 10:42

@Lastfreakinglegs, will people just stop finding fault with literally everything and anything at the moment.

kingat · 13/01/2021 10:42

Yes, the only thing on tv should be national case count. Village by village, town by town, morning until night.

Iknowwhatudidlastsummer · 13/01/2021 10:42

😂😂😂

You really made me laugh. I don't disagree that kettles have their use, but I love how little you think of the average person. You are probably right as well. 😂

Lastfreakinglegs · 13/01/2021 10:42

I guess we need the opium of the masses more than ever before.
