.. to think that Stanley Johnson getting the jab tells you everything you need to know about these clowns?

For a government that values "optics" far higher than actual competence or delivery, thus feels like a misstep. He wasn't following the rules before, now he's going to unstoppable (and smug too).

Meanwhile millions of NHS staff, teachers and others carry on doing their work on the front line unvaccinated and lots of others in Stanley's age group who got a first dose are being asked to wait for their second so others can have their first dose.

I was thinking the exact same thing Hmm when he mentioned that Boris may as well be American this morning on GMB I thought put a fork in me, I’m well and truly fucking done Envy ( not envy believe me!! )

twistedsistersocks · 08/01/2021 09:18

What an entitled tosser he is.

blueangel19 · 08/01/2021 09:20

How old is he?

borntohula · 08/01/2021 09:23

What I don't get is that the general consensus here is that the government is incompetent yet the people who think that unquestionably accept every single thing they tell us.

blueangel19 · 08/01/2021 09:24

Oh 80 years old. What is your point?

dontlikebeards · 08/01/2021 09:24

He is 80 surely he is entitled to it.

SendHelp30 · 08/01/2021 09:24

He’s entitled to it as he’s over 70....

twistedsistersocks · 08/01/2021 09:25

@blueangel19

Oh 80 years old. What is your point?
That my mother has had her second dose cancelled when she's ten years older than he is and extremely clinically vulnerable Angry
Weedsnseeds1 · 08/01/2021 09:25

He's 80

HavelockVetinari · 08/01/2021 09:25

I get your point, but actually I think it's probably a good idea for him to have it publicly - there are a lot of people out there afraid to be vaccinated because of the anti-vaxx bollocks doing the rounds. The idea will be "if the PM is happy to give the vaccine to his own elderly father, it must be ok".

Stanley Johnson is an absolute prat, but I still think it's a good idea to vaccinate him publicly.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 08/01/2021 09:25

I don't see any reason ha shouldn't have it. A lot of dickheads are entitled to it and have had it. In fact, those who don't trust it would probably trust it less if he didn't have it.

MadameBlobby · 08/01/2021 09:26

I think we will see a number of entitled sorts swanning around rubbing it in that they’ve had it whilst the rest of us are still waiting, and ignoring the rules. Bit irritating as many of them will have expected us to follow all the rules to protect them. So although entitled to the jab SJ is a twat but he won’t be the only one.

Mumsnut · 08/01/2021 09:26

Do you think the government should have prevented him having the jab he is entitled to because of the ‘optics’? I’m
Sure Boris didn’t ask him to go on GMB

RedMarauder · 08/01/2021 09:26

No it doesn't.

Stanley Johnson is in his 80s so gets the jab because be is old enough.

The government is incompetent under Boris, but his other sons who aren't as thick and incompetent have stayed away from or left politics.

Tearsfortiers · 08/01/2021 09:29

There's nothing to get worked up about here. I don't see what the problem is. He's 80 and therefore entitled to it. If anything it may inspire those that worry about being vaccinated to get it.

frumpety · 08/01/2021 09:30

I can't honestly get excited by someone who is entitled to the vaccine having the vaccine. I thought it was more telling, the story about him going for French citizenship after Brexit.

Notanorthadontist · 08/01/2021 09:30

My mums 87 and hasn’t been contacted for her first dose yet.

blueangel19 · 08/01/2021 09:31

I bet if he would’t have it people like you would be saying. “Oh why Boris father do not have it first.”

Lweji · 08/01/2021 09:32

He is 80.

Many others are getting their first dose too while others wait for their second.
He didn't get the first shots. It's been a month, even though he is in a priority group.

I agree that health workers should be a priority, but it's not on him.

Not sure what your problem is, OP.

Lweji · 08/01/2021 09:34

Also, do you think older people should provide proof of having complied with the rules before getting the vaccine?

Hobbesmanc · 08/01/2021 09:34

He's over 80 and presumably his GP has got it's delivery. Access to the vaccine isn't based on morality or politics is it. My father hasnt had his yet (87 v. vulnerable) but I don't begrudge anyone else. There will be over 80 yr old prisoners getting it you realise?

Empressofthemundane · 08/01/2021 09:35

He’s over 80. He’s entitled. His having it publicly is designed to encourage others, not to show off. All over 80s are in the same priority group. Some will get before others based on the efficiencies of local NHS supply chains.
Young and healthy key workers are at little risk objectively, they will have to wait.

rookiemere · 08/01/2021 09:36

I don't get the issue. He's 80 and therefore in the priority group. There's enough form filling without checking people are morally entitled to a vaccine . My DPs in Scotland in their 80s haven't been given their appointments yet, but I assume this is just a logistics issue at the minute as not everyone will get it straight away.

Sewrainbow · 08/01/2021 09:40

I think ops point is that he is getting his 2nd dose, when others are being told theirs is being delayed and not everyone in the vulnerable group has had their first yet
Given the news that the Pfizer vaccine hasnt guaranteed the effectiveness of the vaccine if the 2nd dose is not given within 28 days its smacks of privilege because of who he/his son is...

twistedsistersocks · 08/01/2021 09:42

@Hobbesmanc

Well that's a waste isn't it, after all they can make them socially distance. I wouldn't be happy giving the vaccine to some categories of prisoner.
