How would you feel about this?

A teacher at my DD’s school came up as a suggested friend on FB. I looked at her profile. These are public posts. I’ll only upload the ones I could edit to hide identifying details but there are some that are MUCH worse. Her current profile picture is the #LEAVEHOME one. She has multiple posts about how this is all a ‘plandemic’ and Covid doesn’t exist. Makes me feel very uncomfortable that she has access to young impressionable minds. I saw her once at the shops and she wasn’t wearing a mask, I just assumed she was exempt. She is also VERY anti-vax and has posted about how dangerous the Covid vaccine is. Again, all public posts that anyone can see.

YANBU- this is dangerous and I would either talk to her or bring it to the school’s attention. Or at least tell her to change her privacy settings.

YABU- mind your own business.

what a nut

Fangdrew · 11/01/2021 16:44

Holy crap, it sounds like she is becoming even more loopy by the day! We are facing the most difficult period of this entire pandemic and nonsense like this is just so toxic. I hope to God the school takes it seriously. Well done x
@Winterpaw why the snarky comment? So unnecessary. Does being unkind to strangers online make you feel better about yourself? I really don’t get it.
Oh riiight I see, so you only posted for affirmation that you are correct and anyone else on this thread raising an eyebrow about your faux naivety is "unkind"?

Perhaps you should not be so defensive.

I don't feel bad about myself so I'm not coming on here to "make myself feel better" either.

KiKiKiKi123 · 11/01/2021 23:54

@Winterpaw faux naivety? I really don’t know what your problem is. If you have nothing constructive to add to the thread do jog on. I won’t be responding to you again, you’re clearly just a troll who gets kicks out of trying to make people feel shit about themselves. Take care 💐

You need to report this to the Local Education Authority. Not only is she endangering lives, but being so open about her views on anti vaccine is pretty despicable - she's clearly a fucking nut job. I wouldn't want her teaching my kids.

ClaireP20 · 12/01/2021 00:01
@SunsetOverEasterIsland you are right and no, of course I wouldn’t be dithering over terrorist propaganda. It’s just hard when you actually know the person. The thing is this is probably going to come out soon anyway, all the posts are public, if I don’t report it someone else will. I will report it in the most sensitive way possible and will not rant and rave. Hopefully if I do it kindly they will be fair with her.
Good for you OP

MaMaD1990 · 13/01/2021 14:25

Have you heard from the school OP?

Lsquiggles · 13/01/2021 14:38

You did the right thing by reporting! Interested to see how the school reacts to this

gettingolderbutcooler · 13/01/2021 14:47

Tell us her name.
Report to school and ofsted.
And despite what people say, social media (esp as she's made it public) is not exempt from scrutiny. Same for me as a nurse.

gettingolderbutcooler · 13/01/2021 14:48

Where does she work??

KiKiKiKi123 · 13/01/2021 15:15

Sorry for the late update! I have heard back from the school. See screenshot attached.. All offending posts have been removed (or made private)

How would you feel about this?

MaMaD1990 · 13/01/2021 15:24

That's a good result, do you feel better about it all now?

HighSpecWhistle · 13/01/2021 15:50

YANBU. I'd report to the head and governors. I would also not want my kid taught by her.

It's one thing to have unpopular and dangerous views, it's a whole other thing to post it all over social media.

HighSpecWhistle · 13/01/2021 15:52

I'm glad she's removed them. But the fact she thought it was ok to post them in the first place worries me.

KiKiKiKi123 · 13/01/2021 16:37

@MaMaD1990 I do feel better! Just knowing that there is one less Covidiot spreading nonsense around FB makes me feel much much better. Of course, she could still spread misinformation around by other means but maybe this will make her think twice about doing it next time. Hopefully she feels suitably ashamed.
