Everyone keeps pointing out the zip ties. Yes it points towards more nefarious intents there is part of me imagining your average hardcore Trump supporter picking out his outfit and thinking they'd like to look like they might take hostages

DGRossetti · 08/01/2021 12:15

@Newjobnewslob

I've just watched the video on a high quality monitor instead of my phone, and there is no question at all-- the background is fake, his head is stuck on top of a different body. IMO.

I'm no expert, but the outline where the body contrasts with the background is very clear.

And as pp said, if you watch the area where his neck skin joins his suit there are regular imperfections

What it all means I have no idea, but I like the idea of numerous people holding up things which terrify him, forcing him to say this. Just from a personal-to-trump point of view, not from a coercing a world leader to say what you need them to in public point of view. That's also terrifying

I believe it was predicted on these threads that even if Trump went on TV and confessed, it wouldn't convince his supporters. They'd just claim deepfake, or that he was being forced to do it at gunpoint. (Presumably the only person that Donald Trump would save from a bullet is Donald Trump. Sorry Melania. Sorry kids.).

Off on a tangent - and completely showing up my occasional love of train-wreck American reality tv! From the substantial footage shot by the ITV correspondent’s report, one shot shows a group of people heading down a corridor. One guy was quite prominent - young’ish, baseball cap, beard and yelling “USA”.

I kept thinking he reminded me of someone and have realised I’m thinking of Tamra’s son, Ryan, from Real Housewives of Orange County. From memory, I think he’s very pro-Trump.

Unlikely it’s him, but at least I’ve finally got that annoying “who does he remind me of” thought out of my head!

I suppose the person they would have taken hostage would have been Mike Pence? He appears to have been the target of their fury, and all because he had a line that he wasn't prepared to cross.

Fastening yourself to railings is a low tech form of protest, it has to be said.

Or that's what they want you to think ?

Not sure if I'd want to risk going up against secret service agents myself. (Of course if I can get someone else to do it for me ?)

Speaking of the secret service (or SS) what exactly is their brief re:Potus ? Obviously to physically protect him. But are they instructed to watch him commit a crime in silence ? Or do they have a mandate to prevent him, if it were to happen ?

We return to Kings, again. Could Trump get a gun from an agent and shoot someone without being prevented ? I think that is a very valid question, myself.

Cruz is disgusting. There's lots of footage of him firing up the crowd as bad as Trump did.

“THE STINK OF HIS FAMILY IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OFF”: JARED AND IVANKA’S FINAL CHAPTER IN WASHINGTON DEMOLISHED THEIR FUTURE
After Trump supporters staged an insurrection at the Capitol, Javanka’s remaining social capital—and the fear that accompanied it—has dried up. Says one former friend of Ivanka’s: “How do you associate yourself with the worst, most toxic people in U.S. history?”

Oh my. Worth a read. Javanka's lives are buggered now. Karma.

Ah diddums, Josh Hawley has had his upcoming book ( The Tyranny of Big Tech) cancelled by its publishers following Wednesday’s riot.

Hawley described the cancellation as “Orwellian” and claimed it was a “direct assault on the First Amendment”

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/capitol-rioters-prison-trump-executive-order-b1784256.html

Condemning the violent rioters who stormed the Capitol on Wednesday, acting attorney general Jeffrey Rosen in a statement assured that those responsible for the attack would "face the full consequences of their actions under the law."

The protesters are liable to be punished with up to 10 years in prison for “injury of federal property," under the executive order signed by President Donald Trump during the Black Lives Matter anti-racism protests in July 2020.

"I just had the privilege of signing a very strong Executive Order protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues - and combatting recent Criminal Violence," Mr Trump wrote on Twitter on 26 June, after people took to the streets in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. "Long prison terms for these lawless acts against our Great Country!"

...

I wonder if there's a sackful of pardons in the post ?

Mittens030869 · 08/01/2021 13:08

I agree about Cruz, he's despicable. He's played a huge part in this whole business.

I think its obvious the FBI or somebody has really put the shit up him and said you either do this video or its prison

You know how Giuliani tends to confuse phone numbers?
This time he called the wrong Senator to ask to delay the vote count. Grin

I think it's more likely to be Pence.

He served Trump like a lap dog for 4 years only to have him set his mob on him and enter the Capital building where he and his family were. No thought for their safety whatsoever.

I think it's possible that they aren't initiating the 25th is because they are using the threat of it to make him tow the line until the 20th.

It's what I'd do if I was Pence (and saying if you resign I won't pardon you).

That footage of the photographer being attacked and nearly lynched is shocking.

lion that footage is awful. So scary.

A tweet...
'On January 20, 2017, the day of Trump's inauguration, police kettled 217 anti-Trump protesters in the freezing cold and arrested them after sixteen hours.

Prosecutors then tried to put them in prison for 70+ years, on the accusation that all of them collectively broke a window.'

Multiple European security officials told Insider that President Donald Trump appeared to have tacit support among US federal agencies responsible for securing the Capitol complex in Wednesday's coup attempt.

The supporters of President Donald Trump who stormed the Capitol on Wednesday to stop the ratification of President-elect Joe Biden's election victory were attempting a violent coup that multiple European security officials said appeared to have at least tacit support from aspects of the US federal agencies responsible for securing the Capitol complex.

Donald Trump’s belated “concession” to a peaceful and orderly transition of power after the storming of the US Capitol has provoked anger and conspiracy theories among some of his most ardent followers.

On social media channels and chatrooms like Parler and 4chan, where far-right Trumpists have gravitated as other social media sites have increasingly shut out the president, there were complaints of betrayal.

Even Donald Trump appears to be at risk if he tries to stop Donald Trump.

Multiple European security officials told Insider that President Donald Trump appeared to have tacit support among US federal agencies responsible for securing the Capitol complex in Wednesday's coup attempt.

I wonder if this could affect mass UK sentiment about the imperative to crawl up the USAs ass ?

Also it's worth noting the depth of the UK-US intelligence connection.
