greenshoots I agree.... in that how come the Capitol Police were so soft with the terrorists/protestors?
I could've told them this was going to happen
Yes - and that is the greatest worry of all in my view.
And by extension does Biden actually have the support of the army and police?
From where I am sitting, as an observer from afar - the US has a much bigger problem than what happened last night.
It seemed to me that last night was 'allowed' to happen. Too many lapses, far too many hours passed with little or no response from those that should have been protecting Capitol Hill.
Trump does not have the authority to hold back the police and security services, and did not attempt to do so as far as could tell last night.
So why didn't the police and national guard show up on time, and in a way that was coordinated? Why was it such a terrible sham of a response? How on earth did the police force end up standing there with only a can of pepper spray the size of a diet coke can for protection?
There has been a grotesque dereliction of duty somewhere along the line in terms of security and protection, and my guess is that it was not an accident at all, but a deliberate act to sabotage the democratic process last night.
