QuiteGood · 04/01/2021 20:34

Currently suffering with red, sore skin on face; mainly around mouth and under nasal folds. It's caused by being out in the freezing cold and probably the central heating too. It's unsightly and painful.

Can any recommend a speedy, healing balm?

The unreasonable part is...am I unreasonable for using Aibu for traffick?

Steroid cream is fine to heal as a one off. This is why you use it for eczema, as prescribed by a doctor. Just don’t use regularly.

Eucerin is amazing. I have very sensitive skin and live in Alaska (extreme cold) . This is the only cream that works for me when I get sore red patches from the cold.

Aveeno. My mum
Gave me some Childs farm and it's not good.

Definitely Weleda skin food.

Cerave is very good for dry sensitive skin. And cheap.

DidgeDoolittle · 05/01/2021 10:36

I use the cicaplast baume to sort things out and Weleda Skin Food as a barrier cream when I'm going out. It's amazing stuff.

@ShouldHaveCouldHaveWouldHave

Cicaplast Baume is really good. Boots Good Skin range do an overnight Cica paste which soothes my sore skin after a day in the wind. It’s usually on offer too.
This stuff is brilliant. Definitely recommend
RockingMyFiftiesNot · 05/01/2021 10:57

E45 (the cream in the tube not the lotion in the pump)

LeaveMyDamnJam · 05/01/2021 10:58

Diprobase. I can’t use e45 but diprobase is great.

BikeRunSki · 05/01/2021 10:59

Body shop hemp face protector
Bio oil

NotMeekNotObedient · 05/01/2021 11:27

Another vote for Aveeno

@Northernmummy80

We use Nivea but the dark blue tub as it’s really thick and great on the face overnight
Definitely this, I have really sensitive skin and it never stings, I even use it as an eye cream.

Just coming back to this - I bought the cicaplaste baume and it's fantastic. Skin feels lovely and nourished. Thanks for all the advice.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad cicaplaste baume worked for you. I love it. I've also bought myself a tub of dark blue Nivea following recommendations here.

Neutrogena comfort balm

BookFiend4Life · 15/01/2021 07:39

What about lumene sisu moisturizer day and night cream? It's Swedish I think and I've read women there smear some on before going out in the cold.
