Or are you a heretic?

If you don't eat the skin you might as well empty some tinned potatoes into a microwave and stuff the result into your mouth with a shovel covered in butter...

... actually that sounds quite nice to me (I think it must be the butter) Wink

maddy68 · 04/01/2021 20:27

Only if it's crispy. Microwaved jackets can fuck right off

Plonque · 04/01/2021 20:28

Yes. And then I eat all of my DCs too, with a smidge of butter, salt and pepper.

Whatnext2018 · 04/01/2021 20:31

Of course! Isn’t that the point of a jacket potato 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pumpkinstace · 04/01/2021 20:31

Cut in half ,scoop out the insides
Mash together with cheese, tuna, salt and pepper
Stuff filling back in.

Eat like a taco.

I love a crunch bottom on a baked potato (or is it jacket potato?).

If you wash and jab the spuds then put them in a bowl with a tiny glug if olive oil (cover the bowl) and microwave them, the bottom is crispy delight!

oakleaffy · 04/01/2021 20:31

@redcandlelight

only at home if I baked the botato myself. not when out and about...I hate it when the skin is sandy.
Sandy skin? Don't they wash them??

I've not had a sandy ''Bertatoe'' but can imagine it wouldn't be pleasant.

Smiledwiththerisingsun · 04/01/2021 20:32

Yes! Best bit with the most vitamins!

BAKED!
Brendabigbaps · 04/01/2021 20:32

Best bit!
Take out all the potato, stuff the skin full of butter and eat like a sandwich!

Princessbanana · 04/01/2021 20:33

Do you make any cuts to the potatoes before putting them in the microwave? Believe it or not but I’ve never made a baked potato for myself!😐😂 if someone want to describe it fine detail, how to make a baked potato, I would really appreciate it!😁😆

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 04/01/2021 20:34

I stab them (very cathartic)

oakleaffy · 04/01/2021 20:35

Bloody hell...Who has just eaten their evening meal {UK} and is yenning a baked Potato??

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 04/01/2021 20:36

Yes! It's the best bit.

I cook mine in the oven (on about 180) for 1.5-2 hours. I have metal skewers specially for potatoes. They cook all the way through that way.

AdoraBell · 04/01/2021 20:36

Yes, as long as it’s not soggy.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 04/01/2021 20:37

First catch your potato
Wash it and scrub it all nice and clean
Stab it (or it will explode)
Either 1) wrap in kitchen roll and nuke it on high for 7-10 mins (until soft when you poke it) or
2) pop into a nukeable bowl and add a small drizzle of olive oil. Cover and cook (same time’s as above)

If you have the oven on, when cooked you can crisp the skin more if you take it out of the bowl/kitchen roll and pop it onto the oven shelf.

Beans, cheese and coleslaw (with loads of crunch salad and pickles). Mmmmmmmm

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 04/01/2021 20:38

Actually it’s cheese then beans. Very important to get the order correct...

OrangeVelour · 04/01/2021 20:38

Yes, with loads of extra butter!

Aluminium nails..Or a knife speared through and left there. Transfers heat to deep within the potato...

The house smells divine...Baked potatoes, Baked bread and.....

Abroad, where cannabis is legal, the scent of 'Decarboxylating' cannabis for medical cooking {Non smokers} is equally gorgeous.

💕

dramallama7 · 04/01/2021 20:42

Absolutely! It's the best part, the more burnt and crispy the better

zukiecat · 04/01/2021 20:42

The skin of a baked tattie is the best bit!

With just a bit of salt in the tattie, nothing else.
