Or are you a heretic?

Mmmmm yes, of course.

Even super fussy DD eats hers.

It’s the best bit!

Ostryga · 04/01/2021 19:43

@Bookworming

Oh yes, baked slowly for hours, nice and crispy and inside of potato yellow!
Yessssss this! The only way to bake potatoes
Purplethrow · 04/01/2021 19:45

Yes , even when I’ve missed washing all the mud off ; it’s an acquired taste Grin

wizzbangfizz · 04/01/2021 19:45

Best but!

GhostPepperTears · 04/01/2021 19:45

Yes! It's the best bit of oven baked potatoes. But I also love that crispy biscuit you get right at the bottom of a microwave potato - so maybe I'm not normal?

AliceinBunniland · 04/01/2021 19:45

Yes if it is crispy, if not crispy then it depends

Musicalmistress · 04/01/2021 19:45

The crispy oven baked skin is the best part!!!

SilenceIsNoLongerSuspicious · 04/01/2021 19:46

About 2 hours at 160. But really most low or medium ovens and more than1.5 hours work. Key thing is butter, salt and pepper and wrapped in silver foil.

CaptainMyCaptain · 04/01/2021 19:46

It's the best bit.

rosegoldwatcher · 04/01/2021 19:46

Rub olive oil into the skin before baking. Amazing!

Ticklemynickel · 04/01/2021 19:47

It's the best bit. I'm now craving a baked spud.

Whatisthisfuckery · 04/01/2021 19:47

God yes, of course, it’s the best part. We had jackets tonight, done in the slow cooker. Very nice they were too.

I don't think the skin gets crispy enough if you use foil. I never use it.
PainterInPeril · 04/01/2021 19:48

I don't feel like I've had a proper meal if I don't eat the skins. Oh, and none of your rubbish 'fluffy' potatoes either! Have to be waxy ones (Charlotte for preference)!! Delicious!

NeonSparkle · 04/01/2021 19:48

Yes if it’s been oven cooked- it’s the best bit! If cooked only in the microwave then no I leave it.

I tried that once but they were just steamed with no crispy skin.
Chloemol · 04/01/2021 19:49

Yes

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 04/01/2021 19:50

Crispy, with salty butter. Oh yeah

Whatisthisfuckery · 04/01/2021 19:51

I very rarely peal my spuds anyway,I just give them a rub. Only if the skins are really scabby do I peal them. Pealing is too much fannying about, and anyway, the vitamins are all under the skin.

thisismycodename · 04/01/2021 19:52

I in fact, scoop out most of the middle (and give to it DH on top of his one) fill my skins with delicious fillings made of the remaining potato and whatever I fancy and just eat those! I don't like too much potato but I love the skins. Yum.

I do this too. I do like the potato as well but I often scoop out the potato (and eat it) and then put some cheese and other filling in the skin and eat it Grin
Mulhollandmagoo · 04/01/2021 19:53

Yes!!! I love baked potato skin, my 18mo loves it too 😂

S111n20 · 04/01/2021 19:53

Yes I eat the skin. Microwave for ten mins, salt it then oven for 40 mins. That’s what I had for lunch with tuna and sweetcorn 🤤

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 19:54

You're killing me!

I'm a T2 diet controlled diabetic, so I no longer eat potatoes, but I might have one fir my birthday treat.

Make the most of your non diabetic diets!!!

AgeLikeWine · 04/01/2021 19:55

Yes, of course! It’s the best bit, to be saved to last and enjoyed with plenty of butter.
