Yes, I’m a plain speaker. I’m traditional are all klaxons for I’m boorish and ill informed

ThePriceIsNotRight · 03/01/2021 14:16

‘I'm not saying that. But on the flip side of what you've said, a woman can get an abortion without the fathers consent. My point is, pregnancy is complex given that 2 party's are involved in the creation of life and 2 are responsible for the child after its born but men are completely shut out and ignored during the pregnancy. I completely understand that the woman is the one that has to go through the pregnancy and birth but it's not fair for the father to be completely without any say in his child. Men shouldn't be allowed to force a woman to get an abortion but at the same time women shouldn't leave men with no choice if they (the women) wanted to abort’

Yes, it absolutely is fair that men get no say. Anything else totally denies women their basic human rights to bodily autonomy.

Again, men can have a say when they are the ones gestating.

BarryWhiteIsMyBrother · 03/01/2021 14:16

@PerseverancePays

Nobody should own more than two dogs

Dog owners should pay £30 a month for each dog they own to fund the cleaning up of public spaces they have fouled.

Even the childless ones whose tax money pays for other people's kids' education and welfare state?
LaceyBetty · 03/01/2021 14:17

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and to express them, but not force them on others or judge others because of theirs.

Ridiculous. Of course you can judge others for their opinions.

sst1234 · 03/01/2021 14:17

That if you don’t like what you are reading on this thread, you can always choose to not read it. But of course you read all 34 pages of it to then say how vile everyone posting here isn’t. When actually what you wanted to say was you find it good entertainment but still want to tell people what they can say and think.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 14:19

Lol at the faux indignation. Y’all bullies and mean girls.
What? So you’ve just read 34 pages of bilious spew under protest.
no one forced you

Cokie3 · 03/01/2021 14:20

but it's not fair for the father to be completely without any say in his child.

It is fair, because it is not his body. That is the bottom line.

Men shouldn't be allowed to force a woman to get an abortion but at the same time women shouldn't leave men with no choice if they (the women) wanted to abort.

So basically it comes down to the woman has zero rights, with you. You want it both ways for men. Men shouldn't be allowed to force a woman to get an abortion, AND the woman shouldn't leave the men with no choice? How do you propose the man has a 'choice'? You haven't answered that. You seem to be saying the man doesn't have the right to force her to abort, but he does have the right to a 'choice' for her to continue?

You've just said that women should have zero say, because on both counts, it's about the man, not the woman?

The man has no choice because that is how biology dictates it. It may not be 'fair' that men have no choice, but that is how biology works. The man has no choice at all. Whatsoever. And that is how it is.

I would really love for you to answer how you would see the man's choice implemented. If the woman doesn't want to continue with the pregnancy, and he wants it, then what?

FoxyTheFox · 03/01/2021 14:20

Regardless of what the time of a thread is, it doesn't give people license to make abhorrent comments.

ichundich · 03/01/2021 14:21

Mass school closures are currently not needed in England.

ThePriceIsNotRight · 03/01/2021 14:21

Yeah, this thread gave people a chance to share their unpopular opinions, but that doesn’t mean it exists in a vacuum free of judgement for said opinions.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 03/01/2021 14:21

@FoxyTheFox

There are people abusing the benefits system, and its sometimes possible where you know someone well, to identify that someone is in all likelihood abusing the system.

Fraud makes up just 2% of the welfare budget, it is not as widespread as people seem to think.

How do they get this statistic of 2%? Is it once someone has been caught out lying about having a bad back/MH issues for years, then they get added into the 2% stat? How would we ever be able to get a real figure for folk who play the system?
HmmSureJan · 03/01/2021 14:22

@riotlady

Trans women aren’t plotting anything, they generally just want to use the loo in peace. You have probably peed next to many of them without incident.
This is just such bullshit. There are over 66 million people in the U.K. Between 200,000 - 500,000 people identify as trans and those are Trans Men AND Women. So let's give a generous estimate of 300,000 trans women in the U.K. It is highly likely that the majority of us have never come across more than one or two trans women in their lifetime and as they so rarely pass, sorry but it's true, it is just ridiculous to claim that we are all standing next to them on multiple occasions without ever realising.
HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 14:22

@Mommabear20 out of interest do you enact a traditional lifestyle
Presumably he’s your husband,you take his name. None of this Ms nonsense
You’ll not have your own bank account or monies, you’ll have family money?
You’ll not work, as it’s his job to financially provide for you

Tollergirl · 03/01/2021 14:25

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee - there's a big difference between saying that you don't like Prosecco or cats, for arguments sake, to personal and offensive remarks about health or appearance. Maybe those of us who can see this thread for what it means were hoping for more of the former.

However I have learned my lesson and will bid "y'all bullies and mean girls" a timely farewell. May you delight in each other's company!

These threads come up so often that I don't need to read through 34 pages to know it's going to be the same old shit. Y'all.

It's ok to have a toilet brush

If you leave your 8 year old alone for half an hour, he/she will NOT combust!

England is a bit crap but thinks oh so highly of itself

Questioning things and not being a sheep makes you smart, not stupid like claimed on here

Spirituality is not the opposite of science

Soldiers (who have been to war) are government funded and authorized killers, not heroes (maybe some are doing a good job rescuing ppl from floods etc., but they are still authorized to kill by the powers that be, creepy and wrong). It certainly is not something to be encouraged and hero worshipped, I just cant wrap my head around why ppl do this, but then Im a pacifist.

Veganism is BULLSHIT! And super UNHEALTHY! No matter how much you whine and screech about it, you are being an idiot for not taking note that meat helped us develop the brains we have, and ignoring the TINY FACT that we are omnivores!

Man that felt good, and those are some very unpopular opinions Grin
@JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows force? No. But they should certainly have a say in the murder of their child. I've been through 1 full pregnancy and birth and am pregnant again and it's not something I enjoy, but I still think men should have a say in the lives of their children. Nature dictates that women carry and birth the child, why is that the mans fault?
If a man doesn’t want his child to be aborted he should only have sex with a woman who is 100% prolife. If he chooses to have sex with a woman who isn’t 100% prolife he should be well aware that while in some cases his views may be taken into consideration, he does not and should not have a say in what happens.

JudgeRindersMinder · 03/01/2021 14:29

@Seasaltyhair

Boris is PM because Corbin was so terrible. The cult of the Corbynites ruined Labour for the rest of us. And after reading today that they plan on regrouping and pushing back against Keir I wish they’d just fuck off and crawl back under their rocks. Keir is possibly the only change Labour can get back up off its arse but these narcissistic idiots want to drag it back to hell again.

I would have chosen Boris over Corbyn every time and I’m a Labour supporter.

Absolutely this-Corbyn would never have been electable, and if his followers regroup all they will achieve is a Tory government for the foreseeable. My other opinion, although true current Tory govt is shit, as I get older I lean more towards the right
Cokie3 · 03/01/2021 14:29

It's not the responsibility of women to sacrifice our needs and our space for someone who still has male genitals. If they had the OP, I would have no problems with them. If they are genuine in how they identify, they will have the OP. But, why is it always the women who are the ones to make the allowances? Why can't pre-op transwomen use the male restroom/facilities? Instead of punishing women because men may attack transwomen, why can't they focus of changing the male response to pre-op transwomen, so they can remain in the male restrooms? It's always the women who have to make the sacrifice. The problem is male violence on pre-op transwomen (so penis and testicle havers). It's the men that should sort themselves out, or create a third space. Women shouldn't have to be the ones that make all concessions. If they're not safe in their own natal gender's restrooms, then that's a male problem so sort it out with males.

That if you protest about something way more than is visible to others, than chances are that you have the hang up. For instance complaining about how others are obsessed by class when actually the inferiority complex may lie with you.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 14:31

Look,If a thread has the strap line unpopular opinions,expect to be somewhat our your comfort zone
It’s like a thread being titled I love big Barky dogs and then posting to complain about big barking dogs
