"English" people are not a homogenous group.

"English" people are not class obsessed IRL and many couldn't give a shiny sh*t about what class you are.

Being proud of where you were born is nonsensical and equates to being proud of having brown hair, blue eyes or small feet.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 03/01/2021 12:43

Young people's MH is the responsibility of the NHS

Young people suffering with mental illness should be the responsibility of the NHS? Or children struggling with the normal emotional problems that are being a teenager should be the responsibility of the NHS? Because having worked in CAMHS, that's what many referrals and input are for; the general angst of teenage years and it is so quickly pathologised by MH services

FrostedCranberries · 03/01/2021 12:44

I think it's best if women dont marry. Kids or no kids.

MillieEpple · 03/01/2021 12:45

That some FT employees contribute less to the economy that some people not in paid employment at all.

Phineyj · 03/01/2021 12:46
  1. People who pay for private education are more honest than people who buy expensive houses in school catchment or use religion to obtain state school places. Private school users are not doing anyone else out of a school place.
  2. SEN is not the fault of the parents. Otherwise how do you explain all those with a child with SEN and siblings with no issues?
  3. If you don't think the NHS should pay for any IVF, you should own the fact that you therefore also believe only the rich should be able to receive treatment for infertility problems, and should probably also think about whether you additionally believe the infertile somehow deserve it and why you think that.
  4. Bread sauce is lovely but cranberry sauce mings.

Every garden should be made to have a tree in it.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 12:51

If it’s only a name or you want to all have the same family name why isn’t he called Mr The Woman’s Name? Why Are your kids Called Child HisSurname
Ummmm, I know, because it’s not only the name, it’s the power dynamic.

@SonEtLumiere 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I find it utterly astonishing that people who claim to be introverts and incapable of making conversation with anyone in a social setting, in the same conversation moan that no one makes the effort with them. I'm not going to spend a valuable evening eeking discussion out of a grown adults who doesn't want to speak and doesn't want to be there.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 12:55

It really doesn’t take a village to raise a child. It’s a private personal endeavour
I don’t want my village/neighbours/school gate involved in how I raise my dc

Plussizejumpsuit · 03/01/2021 12:55

@bloodyhairy

Don't use your anxiety as an excuse to never step up to the plate. If you can't accommodate an overnight guest, for example, usually a relative of your husband because of anxiety, then this suggests that you are really just a bit of a lame duck.
I'm greatful I'm not as lacking an empathy as you. This is awful.
pollysproggle · 03/01/2021 12:58

Haha @UnderCaffeinated
So I'm entitled to my opinion but it's with conditions?
I have to explain myself to you and be judged by you because what I don't say 'speaks volumes'. Amazing.

It's an unpopular opinion and I can see it's definitely unpopular with you!

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 12:59

If you have a birthday drink & invite friends/family It’s not expected you hire a caterer and a hall
Birthday drink means get a round in. Stretch to crisps if you’re feeling flush
It doesn’t mean a nice spread on arrival with thoughtfully chosen nibbles and canapés or you footing the complete cost of feeding & watering your friends/family

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 03/01/2021 12:59

I think re anxiety, yes plenty of people have it but how many just accept it and don't try to work on their anxiety? Most people from what I can see. The best way to tackle not having a guest because of anxiety is to have the guest for a day anyway and see how you get on?

If you meet friends for dinner you’re not then expected to pay because you made the invitation

Introverts will survive a zombie apocalypse. Extroverts won't.

Hate Tories
Believe wholeheartedly in trans rights
Schools should be shut for the next few weeks
I've got a toilet brush
I wash towels maybe... weekly?

But I still like it here.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 13:04

I don’t have family money, his money or we money. I have my money
When we go out we pay individually using our own money, and I’ll pay my respective share of a meal

Yes!

By page 32 we are getting into the shit things now.

CounsellorTroi · 03/01/2021 13:08

If you’ve gone for a meal with friends but only had a main and drunk no alcohol, you shouldn’t be expected to pay an equal share of a bill that includes wine and desserts all round.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 13:10

@CounsellorTroi I don’t split bills,I put in and pay what I had plus 20% tip
I don’t usually drink so no I’m not paying the wine bill
