Men are selfish (even the really good ones)
Women are a bit mad (even the really good ones)

The main difference between men and women is that men are lunatics and women are idiots.

It should be socially unacceptable to have more than 1 or 2 children per couple. Having 1 or 2 is fine as it is needed to provide for an aging population. Reducing the number people have will help with the environment.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 03/01/2021 12:04

There’s nothing wrong with pointing out to an OP who has had three children with a shit man, and is now worrying that things might not change after all when the fourth she’s currently carrying arrives, that she’s made bad choices. All the ‘But she can’t change the past; that doesn’t help the OP now’ posts might be more #bekind, but encouraging someone in this position to absolve themselves from blame is unhealthy. Pound to a penny she’ll be back in 18 months, pregnant again and still asking ‘But why won’t he propose?’

WorraLiberty · 03/01/2021 12:04

Plastering your kid's photos over social media just because 'Aunt Doris and Uncle Dave in Australia' wants to see them is a shit excuse.

You're doing it because you get off on the likes and love hearts, so you should really just own that.

Also, if you wouldn't be happy about having your photos plastered over social media, don't do it to your kids. It's hypocritical.

Grin I knew this would follow.

LordOfTheOnionRings · 03/01/2021 12:06

Ru Paul's Drag race isn't offensive and is pretty fucking funny.

I don't drink alcohol and think it's dangerous and should come with warnings similar to cigarettes.

ABORTION IS EVERY WOMAN'S RIGHT!

'One glance at how a person eats provides significant information about their upbringing and social class'

I'm astonished that someone would think this let alone post it.

As for 'only country workers should live in the country' it's all a bit 'This is a local shop, for local people; there's nothing for you here' (League Of Gentlemen) isn't it?

My unpopular opinion is I like Boris Johnson .

EwwwwDavid · 03/01/2021 12:08

#bekind is usually something that's said by people who are anything but kind themselves.

And curbing any further reproductive urges you may have after 2 children won’t actually kill you.

I eat more than one slice of pizza
I am a 'cool wife'
99% of the walls in my house are white
That IVF should not be done on the NHS
That in some of the LTB scenarios on here, the women is not as mild/timid as she makes out, isn't asking/saying anything gently and isn't a Saint. The DH should, in fact, LTB

WomenAndVulvas · 03/01/2021 12:09

The feminist posters on here are a whining, intolerant, aggressive bunch with a massive chip on their shoulder and who believe all women should have exactly the same opinions as them, or you can't possibly be on the side of women.

thecatsthecats · 03/01/2021 12:10

Most human beings are mediocre, and the vast bulk of human advancement has been achieved by a tiny fraction of humanity. We are currently, as a species, embroiled in squabbling in over the "fair" attribution of resources and acclaim based on identities, when the vast majority of any and every race, gender etc is entirely pointless, and just exist to repeat, consume and benefit from the achievements of the few.

Oh and "Fair"? A solely human concept that seems to achieve little to nothing in the long term. Lions don't have fair. Penguins don't have fair. Centipedes don't have fair.

Life isn't fair, but only humans tie themselves in knots failing to achieve it.

GellerYeller · 03/01/2021 12:10

I'm not a fan of Hush, Mint Velvet, Fat face, Joules, Boden etc. I think Ted Baker makes adults look like toddlers in the preschool dressing up box (hides).
I add pineapple judiciously to any pizza, there's nothing it can't improve.

CoolCatTaco · 03/01/2021 12:11

IVF should be on the NHS.
Britishness is just Englishness.
NI is Irish.

bloodyhairy · 03/01/2021 12:12

Don't use your anxiety as an excuse to never step up to the plate.
If you can't accommodate an overnight guest, for example, usually a relative of your husband because of anxiety, then this suggests that you are really just a bit of a lame duck.

Cokie3 · 03/01/2021 12:14

@MacDuffsMuff

People who say people that eat animals don't truly love animals are disrespecting vets.

Um ... what?? 😂

Many vets (animal Veterinarians, in case there was a confusion) are meat eaters, yet they still love animals and care for them.
bloodyhairy · 03/01/2021 12:14

And I wouldn't want to receive a handmade gift.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 03/01/2021 12:15

Disliking, criticising or disagreeing with another woman is not some kind of feminist betrayal. Cries of ‘Whatever happened to women supporting each other instead of tearing each other down?’ do way more harm than good.

sst1234 · 03/01/2021 12:18

There is nothing good about mediocrity and everyone is certainly not a winner. Proponents of mediocrity are just riding on the coat tails of those that do stuff.
Those always telling others not to judge are closet hypocrites as they judge all day long but just like to tell themselves that they are morally superior.
Equality of opportunity is a good thing, forced equality of outcome is just nuts.
Everyone’s a socialist until they can’t get an iPhone.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 12:18

Some women give men power over them and then whine about it. The I’ve been waiting 7yrs for him to propose ... I’m still waiting...why Won’t he propose
Because he doesn’t want to
Because he doesn’t have to
Because he can maintain the same life without getting married
Because you’re the she’ll do just now girl and he’ll swan off and marry someone else

MakeMineALarge1 · 03/01/2021 12:19

I do wonder how some people on here get through life

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 12:21

What’s a cool wife? As opposed to an uncool wife

thecatsthecats · 03/01/2021 12:22

@MsTSwift

If you need to have a secret running away fund you must be in a really really shit marriage.
I agree that a SECRET running away fund is a red flag.

But my husband and I happily pool about half our incomes into a shared pot that covers our entire joint life together, whilst maintaining separate savings, finances and investments out of the remainder.

Our joint expenses are extremely comprehensive - e.g. we'll be making sure we both maintain equal pension contributions during shared parental leave, etc. All holidays, meals out, deposits etc are split down the middle.

But our personal spends and savings are just that, personal. We have no need to be private about it.

CoolCatTaco · 03/01/2021 12:22

There's no reason not to work just because you have a child other than you don't want to/have to.
