cigsoffofthefloor · 03/01/2021 00:10

Smoking is fucking brilliant, and sexy.

agreed

Vargas · 03/01/2021 00:10

Most men are lovely, some are dreadful

Trans women with male bits shouldn't share loos with women and girls

People can say something politically incorrect and still be nice people

Tories are mostly scum, but some are decent. Lots of politicians are trying to do the right thing

Sarie90 · 03/01/2021 00:10

Co-sleeping isn't the solution when your baby won't sleep.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 00:12

@freakyfairy,clearly a touchy subject for you. All these must travel men
Yep of course on occasion they’re at it

SionnachRua · 03/01/2021 00:12

@XDownwiththissortofthingX

J K Rowling is a transphobe, a bully, and a raging hypocrite, and her 'essay' is laughable, uni fresher level nonsense.
And her books are irritating as all hell. The world is great but Harry is an unbearable wee shite. I hated them as a kid and have held firmly onto that opinion ever since Grin

Also, adults who treat HP like the greatest thing since sliced bread need to grow up.

EwwwwDavid · 03/01/2021 00:13

Smoking is cool and you know it! Grin

freakyfairy · 03/01/2021 00:14

Yes it is a touchy subject because you assume that just because he works "away" that it makes him an asshole... it's his job, it had it long before he met me. I'm not going to make him change it?? Why do you assume these ppl have a choice?? A pilot won't just suddenly stop flying because he got married and had kids!Confused

MistyGreenAndBlue · 03/01/2021 00:14

I think Cadbury chocolate tastes the same as it did when I was a kid. I don't find it greasy either. I like it fine.

Livpool · 03/01/2021 00:16

Most men are good people

SAHM are not as busy as they think they are

Football is great

noirchatsdeux · 03/01/2021 00:16

@Cheeeeislifenow Yes about the covid restrictions. I spent 3 years in a rural village in Bangladesh back in the late 70s, between the ages of 9 to 12. I had approx 1 year of home schooling in that time (not by my parents, an actual primary school teacher who was paid to teach me and my two brothers, because my parents gave up trying to do it after 2 hours). No friends, no hobbies, no television, no internet, no fucking nothing. All we could do was read and listen to the BBC World service.

Somehow I managed to survive and (eventually) ended up going to Oxford. I want to scream each time I hear this bollocks about how 'damaged' and 'illiterate' children will be.

Still better than being dead.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 00:16

@freakyfairy, you really won’t change my mind, whinging and telling me all these really compelling examples of why men must travel. I’m not going to say, hey you know what you’re right! He’s sooooo important

Weekends · 03/01/2021 00:17

I agree, pineapple on pizza is great!

NHS workers are not all heroes. They are normal people, just like the rest of society. Some workers are brilliant, some are awful. Some services are brilliant, some are awful. Some experiences (inc. customer service) have been brilliant in the pandemic, some have been awful.

Fertility treatment should not be available for free on the NHS under any circumstances while there are still illnesses the nation can't afford to treat.

The UK is a great place to live on so many levels when you compare with many, many other countries in the world.

Fish fingers don't seem to be doing my daughter any harm.

The CV-19 rules are not hard to understand. You just have to read them.I

RedToothBrush · 03/01/2021 00:18

McDonalds is awesome.

Primark isn't that bad really.

Christmas starts in October. And this is a good thing.

dottiedaisee · 03/01/2021 00:19

McDonald’s is actually ok !!

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 00:19

No is not a complete sentence

freakyfairy · 03/01/2021 00:22

I never said he was important Confused I said that the jobs require ppl (men and women) to travel. I find it really narrow minded of you to think otherwise! Do you really think those jobs should ONLY be for single ppl??

UnderCaffeinated · 03/01/2021 00:22

@pollysproggle okay, I see that it is your opinion but I want to know what your method is that stops children wetting themselves while they’re asleep once they’ve turned 3? It’s just that if laziness is the problem then I want to know what you did that I couldn’t manage.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 03/01/2021 00:23

ComtesseDeSpair

Love your post !

cigsoffofthefloor · 03/01/2021 00:24

my friend's diet has remained largely the same as it was since she was about 2 years old, which is:

nutella on toast/pain au chocolat/chocolate pillow cereal for breakfast
cheese sandwich/ham sandwich/nutella sandwich, wotsits/chilli doritos/ready salted walkers crisps and a penguin bar/chocolate digestives/oreos for lunch
some variant of breaded chicken, potato waffles and spaghetti hoops/jacket potato and tomato soup/a rerun of lunch for dinner

  • usually an energy drink, lots of cola and sometimes pringles/melted chocolate for snacks. east sausage and chips from the chip shop and mcdonald's at least once a week and adds loads of ketchup onto anything she eats. she is healthy and skinny, it never did her any harm yet people continuously make a huge deal about their child having a beige dinner.
mollypuss1 · 03/01/2021 00:25

Waitrose is overpriced and shite

Lucidas · 03/01/2021 00:26

Your personal anecdote about your child and how they ‘turned out fine’ is not generalisable to the rest of society and is effectively meaningless.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 00:27

Russell Group unis are only a big deal on mn.some of the RG are distinctly average

HeddaGarbled · 03/01/2021 00:27

Mumsnet is fun, entertaining and informative and the mods do a decent job of keeping the worst posters under control.

PoppiesinOctober · 03/01/2021 00:28

@stovetopespresso

that people with no experience of kids shouldn't be on mumsnet
Why? What's this thread in particular got to do with being a parent? Nothing? Therefore why can't childfree people like me post here?Smile
Ginfordinner · 03/01/2021 00:28

I'm not an introvert. I answer the front door, and answer the phone.
