Where you could just come on and offload your little sins you couldn't say in person.

Can we have a thread of confessions you want to get off your chest and give us some lighthearted laughs to distract from the current situation.

I hide my chocolate in an antique Chinese lunch/wedding pail. No one in the house would ever think of looking there.

Realise this is a totally only-on-mumsnet post 😂

Ginandshinythings · 02/01/2021 16:32

I tell my husband I'm in the bedroom working, so far I've had a nap and now I'm on here... Productive afternoon I'd say!

TurquoiseDragon · 02/01/2021 16:38

I used to hide chocolate and stuff from my ex. He was abusive and I would comfort eat, bingeing on chocolate and hiding the evidence. I've not been with him for over 3 years now, and I can eat chocolate when I want. I don't eat that much these days and I am slowly losing the weight I gained while with ex.

Chocolate helped me stay sane in that relationship, so no regrets.

I also had some serious crushes while with ex, must have been my brain telling me to leave. I did kiss someone else towards the end, one of the things that helped me realise I needed to leave. Haven't seen that person since, and that's a shame, but I'm grateful for the kick I got to help me leave an abuser.

I did leave a couple of prawns when I left ex, in a location that meant I had plausible deniability.

Edgeoftheledge · 02/01/2021 16:40

I love my children but wish I hadn't had any. 🥺

SlipperTripper · 02/01/2021 16:44

I emptied all my Christmas gifted chocolate and fudge into one big Tupperware and it's on my bedside table under my books. I have some every morning, luxuriating in bed, listening to DH manage the carnage downstairs.

multicolouredcandycanes · 02/01/2021 16:59

I ate leftover Chinese for breakfast, went on a walk, nipped into M&S to buy snacks and profiteroles then got back into bed and have been watching shows on my laptop.

The doorbell one is brilliant!

BillyBunnyBun · 02/01/2021 17:17

I still wet the bed and wear nappies to bed. Literally nobody knows but it’s one of the reasons I’m still single in my thirties.

Sideorderofchips · 02/01/2021 17:21

I honestly wish I had never gone to baby group with my youngest. As then I would never have met L. And then I would still be happily married instead of trying to claw the pieces of my life back together whilst my head and heart break apart.

BringMeThatHorizon · 02/01/2021 17:33

We have a fridge with a water dispenser that needs refilling regularly. Whoever uses the last of the water refills it. If I get a drink and think it's getting low, I'll fill my glass straight from the tap so DH is always the one that has to do the big refill.

@GeordieGreigsButtButtZoom

I told my family I was going to do the big shop and disappeared for 1.5 hours...

...mostly spent sitting in the car with a book and coffee while I waited for my slot to pick up my click and collect.

Absolute genius thank you.

@timegoesbysoslowly
Yes you can! There's an non-offical sky Q app you can download that works a treat Grin

YesPleaseMary · 02/01/2021 17:53

I’m out of work atm. DH thinks I take the kids to school and then do all the chores, I don’t. I’ve been binge watching The Big Bang Theory while the kids are at school and then put a wash on and spray some furniture polish around just before he gets in.

itchyfinger · 02/01/2021 18:11

The clock and collect food shop is amazing! Will be using that one. Yes I also do a 10 min speed clean on my days off to make DH think I've been scrubbing away all day - quick dettol wipe and tidy and hes none the wiser.

This is said with absolutely no judgement and is absolutelynot meant to scare you! BuT As you know this is not 'normal', but it could very well be due to a spinal condition or other medical condition. I would ask your g.p to be referred for an MRI to rule out a tethered cord. Also there are plenty of lovely men out there that would totally understand your predicament and love you regardless. Flowers
StillCoughingandLaughing · 02/01/2021 18:36

In my last job everyone used to make a big thing of bringing treats for the office back from holiday. I’d been to Budapest and simply couldn’t be arsed rushing around on my last day to find something authentic looking that wouldn’t melt in the heatwave I’d been enjoying. So the day before I went back to work, I bought cheap chocolate and biscuits from the Polish shop around the corner, (correctly) guessing Polish would look the same as Hungarian to most people.

JaceLancs · 02/01/2021 18:40

I hide chocolate in my car
I spend far more on clothes and jewellery than I ever tell anyone
I remove dates from out of date food as DP wouldn’t eat it otherwise
I used to stay away longer on work trips than I needed to just to get time on my own

bitheby · 02/01/2021 18:42

@timegoesbysoslowly There's a Sky remote app that works with Sky Q. You just need to connect to the box via the same WiFi.

AragonsGirl · 02/01/2021 18:46

@GeordieGreigsButtButtZoom that is brilliant!

EstuaryBird · 02/01/2021 18:56

I’m still in love with my first long term boyfriend who I dumped due to a big mix up in 1972 (what was I thinking 😢).
The only way I can get any joy out of sex with DH is by fantasising about boyfriend 😔....not proud of that.

Squaddielife · 02/01/2021 19:14

I have a nosey neighbour who walks their dog about 6 times a day Very VERY slowly round our close and stops to chat/gossip nonsense at any given opportunity.

Several times they've been walking past my house when I arrive back from work so pretend to answer a phone call on my mobile whilst stepping out of the car, quick wave over to neighbour whilst dashing into the house spouting "yes of course, that would be lovely" to the nobody on the line Grin

JovialNickname · 02/01/2021 19:27

I don't bother to brush my teeth if I know I'm going to be wearing a mask.

I do the same with a nosy neighbour!

I have done similar to avoid certain people.
Furrybutts · 02/01/2021 20:16

Oh my, me too re the neighbour. Every time I arrive home I put the phone to my ear before I step out of the car, otherwise she will come out the second I pull up.
She's the reason for my earlier post on this thread too :(
