Where you could just come on and offload your little sins you couldn't say in person.

Can we have a thread of confessions you want to get off your chest and give us some lighthearted laughs to distract from the current situation.

OP posts:

Ringing your own doorbell is genius. Thank you.

My first mobile phone 20 years ago had an aerial which, when gently unscrewed, would gradually spoil the reception and cut off boring phone calls. I miss it.

VulvaPerson · 02/01/2021 15:11

Yes. Thinking of a namechange and a random thread actually as have a shitload to get off my chest but oddly, dont want to be judged by even strangers on the internet!

VulvaPerson · 02/01/2021 15:12

@Nicolastuffedone

I ring my own doorbell to get off a boring phone call
This is bloody genius though..why have I never thought of this
Sideorderofchips · 02/01/2021 15:12

I sleep when my kids are with their dad and am supposed to be doing housework

I haven't ironed any school uniform

I ate the trifle.

thefirstmrsrochester · 02/01/2021 15:14

@Nicolastuffedone I downloaded a doorbell chime at the March lockdown and have used it with abandon to cut short phone and zoom calls. No regrets whatsoever.

Sideorderofchips · 02/01/2021 15:14

Oh and I've told my kids that if the ice cream man plays music he doesn't have any ice cream left

WhatTheFuckHappenedHere · 02/01/2021 15:16

I didn’t do the washing up yesterday

I know very little about the course I have volunteered to teach next term

LadyJaye · 02/01/2021 15:16

I have a mild lactose intolerance which makes me very gassy. Cheese is the worst culprit. I love cheese (yoghurt, annoyingly, is fine. I do not love yoghurt).

I eat the cheese, fart like a trooper and blame it on the cats.

happinessischocolate · 02/01/2021 15:20

@GeordieGreigsButtButtZoom

I told my family I was going to do the big shop and disappeared for 1.5 hours...

...mostly spent sitting in the car with a book and coffee while I waited for my slot to pick up my click and collect.

😂 genius

If DH is in the middle of watching something on the computer and has done something to piss me off, I'll flick the electric off at the mains so he has to wait for it all to come back on again. We've had a lot of 'power surges' since the start of lockdown.

If I’m on the landline and getting restless, I select my ringtone on my mobile and say it’s work so have to go. Not sorry.
I always have the freshest food. Dh gets the older stuff. He knows this and judges me for it, not sorry, cook your own.
I frequently rewash a load in the washing machine because I put it on and couldn’t be arsed to hang it up.
I once snapped the door handle on the patio door at night. We use it every day, I knew dh would go mad that I’d broken something else. I very carefully balanced it back on in correct position and let dh be the next one to use it. And fix it.

MakeMineALarge1 · 02/01/2021 15:32

I never iron and I don't feel in the slightest bit guilty

the80sweregreat · 02/01/2021 15:39

Icelollycraving
I often leave things I've broken looking like they are fine , then blame on it the next person to use it!
It doesn't help that my dh very rarely breaks things and is very careful with anything he does. I'm not so much.
I've pretended to be out if someone rings the landline or ignore my mobile if I don't fancy a chat ( didn't hear it , sorry) The doorbell thing is a good idea.

EggysMom · 02/01/2021 15:42

What's an iron?!!!

I "had BB problems" in the weeks before Christmas so I could switch off video for team meeting and quietly wrap presents whilst listening in.

Furrybutts · 02/01/2021 15:45

I've just had a back gate fitted in my back garden fence, so I can park out there, then come in through the back of my house so that it looks like I'm not in.

EveningOverRooftops · 02/01/2021 15:47

I keep chocolate in the freezer inside a bag of frozen peas. I don’t eat much but when I buy it I actually want to eat it even if it takes me a week.

Power surges happen here often too.

EveningOverRooftops · 02/01/2021 15:50

When I’m gaming I’ll sometimes ‘blue screen’ to quit rather than wait until the end of a mission/match whatever. ESP if my team is pissing me off Confused

(For non gamers a Blue screen is when your game unexpected just crashes in PS4 )

I also get calls or visitors when I’m bored of a conversation.

I keep my fancy bath stuff hidden in my bedroom. Again I want things that are just mine and I’m fed up of bloody sharing everything.

sproutburger · 02/01/2021 15:50

Much of the fresh food I buy is from the reduced section in tesco. By the time I get round to cooking /eating it, it's often past its date. I always take it out of its packaging or stick a whoops! sticker over the date so DH doesn't know. He won't eat anything past its sell by date. Or so he thinks.

timegoesbysoslowly · 02/01/2021 15:51

I used to do similar when had old sky, if I was upstairs and him downstairs watching something and he had pissed me off. I could control the sky box downstairs via my phone, so I would change channels and hear him swearing at Tv he never figured out it was me!

Now have Sky Q and I don't think you can do this as Sky Q has no app

SnugglySnerd · 02/01/2021 15:52

I eat chocolate and biscuits with my head in a cupboard so nobody asks me to share. I also tell the children "it has loads of chilli in" if I am eating something they like the look of!

LiteMyFyre · 02/01/2021 16:01

Lots to confess, but two I feel not great about :(

  • Only post my good running times on Strava (I delete the bad ones!)
  • Occasionally wank thinking of my first BF Blush
Thecazelets · 02/01/2021 16:03

I have had a Greggs sausage roll, 2 Yum Yums and a packet of prawn cocktail crisps while out on my 'healthy' long walk today. It was absolutely wonderful.

TroysMammy · 02/01/2021 16:07

I've got a box of M&S cherry liqueur chocolates in my knickers drawer. My DP is recovering alcoholic and although we sometimes use alcohol in cooking I'm not comfortable in sharing them as to me they are more alcoholic because of the taste.

Lucieintheskye · 02/01/2021 16:12

I'm a housewife, DH thinks I spend my days slaving over a hot stove, scrubbing each individual bathroom tile and hoovering every inch of carpet.

Today I stayed in bed until 11, tidied the kitchen made tea and closed the door then drove to Starbucks and Subway and am now tucked up on the sofa in his hoody munching my way through a footlong sandwich with a MASSIVE white chocolate frappuccino. He specifically asked for salmon salad tonight so I had to make up for the rabbit food somehow...

And yes, I will be hiding all evidence of my sins deep in the recycling bins...
