OMG I'm 11 stone

thecutback · 02/01/2021 09:18

Heaviest I've ever been.

This year has been tough, iui, then ivf, then a traumatic miscarriage and then the drinking and eating that comes with Christmas etc.

Really need to get it sorted! Very unhappy at this weight

OP posts:
inquietant · 02/01/2021 11:35

It is irrelevant and insensitive to put a number on it, as it is so personal - especially without giving height.

To have never been heavier and be unhappy, especially if now in the overweight or obese - that is understandable and worthy of discussion.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 02/01/2021 11:36

I am now first time ever regretting weight loss because I am now 18 stone, but 8 months ago I could shut everyone moaning up with my "20 stone? I am 24 stone, hope you are happyHmm"
😂 Damn it!😂
I am also losing ability to use my favourite thread of "STFU or I will eat you" in real life😂

Danu2021 · 02/01/2021 11:38

Yes, wanting to stay healthy is not fat shaming others who cannot do the same for whatever reason. Every time somebody says ''I have a degree'' I know they're not shaming me for not having a degree, ykwim.

I despair that saying ''I want to get back to a healthy weight again'' is perceived as fat-shaming or perceived as a statement that makes
others feel bad.

HerMammy · 02/01/2021 11:38

Still comments criticisms 🙄 Everyone is a different shake/size so weight gain is personal.
Rather than make a sarky comment, ask yourself why you’ve gained 5+ stone and maybe do something about it.
Tbf this I have young kids excuse always mystifies me as when mine were young I never had the time to sit on MN eating shite.🤣

nimbuscloud · 02/01/2021 11:39

Some of the comments are nuts. Why should the op be silenced because some posters deem that she is not heavy enough to justify posting about her weight ??

MadameBlobby · 02/01/2021 11:40

I’ve got about 11 stone to lose! But you know what OP once upon a time I was 9 stone and when I got to 11 stone I wish I had put the brakes on instead of ending up in the state I am. Good luck

BexR · 02/01/2021 11:40

I hear you OP. I'm too scared to weigh myself but my clothes tell me I've put on a lot. Can only wear jeggings and joggers at the minute.

Based on past experience I can lose 2lb a week so if I crack on I can shift 2 stone by Spring!

PurpleDaisies · 02/01/2021 11:41

@Flowerpot321

Wow wish I was eleven stone, I'm fifteen stone after having my babies and trying to drop abit of weight. Bit depressing that eleven stone is deemed a shocking weight to be
It isn’t, but it’s up two stone for the op. It would be for me too. None of my clothes world fit and I wouldn’t look like me.

There’s no comment about anybody else’s weight at all in the op’s posts. She is not saying anything about people who weight eleven stone (or more). She has been through an utterly miserable time and it’s a shame people are piling on to criticise her for asking for support in making a positive change.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 02/01/2021 11:42

@SchrodingersImmigrant

I think your title got to a lot of people, because you made being 11 stone sound like it was absolutely disgusting. It was your title, not your post.

Shock I had to check the title again to make sure I am not dreaming.
"OMG, I am 11 stone" doesn't make something sound "absolutely disgusting". What's wrong with people?!Shock

Nothing. What's wrong with you?
MimiLaRue · 02/01/2021 11:42

Well, by your own rationale, there will be people weighing 20 stone reading your post and they would love to be 15 stone and are aghast that you dont like being the weight they would LOVE to be so why are YOU complaining about it???? Do you now see why your comments are deeply unhelpful and dysfunctional?

Christmas2021 · 02/01/2021 11:42

Haven't read all the comments because no doubt it will be a who is heaviest and has it worse competition! Where does that end...someone can't be unhappy being 24 stone because someone else is 27 stone? Ridiculous.

OP I get it, I'd be upset too (and am also unhappy with my current weight which I feel is too heavy for me AND I don't feel healthy which I want to given the current pandemic) but you've had a really tough year so go easy on yourself. It is good you know now so you can start taking steps towards losing weight if that's what you want to do.

pinkpetal2 · 02/01/2021 11:43

Does anyone know what my weight is supposed to be as the nhs bmi thing is so drastic?? I'm 5ft7 and it's recommended that my weight should be between 8stone-10stoneShock.

For context when I had my first son I was 13 stone I lost a lot of weight in the pregnancy, by the time I'd had the baby I was 11st 3.

I was so skinny everyone I saw who knew me, asked me if I was ill I was stick thin.

When I just had this last baby I was 14stone5 which is way to heavy on me,
I was a size 14, once baby was out again I was around 12stone2.
I looked okay but still a bit gaunt.

I'm now back up to 14 stone 8 and have started a diet as for me this is way to big but I have no idea what my balance is.

Immrswhistledown · 02/01/2021 11:44

@dontdisturbmenow

Whatever your weight is irrelevant. What is how you feel about it.

I can tolerate myself up to a point after which I just start to hate myself. Hate how my clothes feel, hate how sluggish I feel, how I feel like an elephant moving around and how I look. I also start hating myself for food controlling be rather than the other way.

I'm now in day 7 of throwing every piece of crap food in the bin and taking control and I already feel so much better. It will be a few months before I am back to the weight I want, because I'm post menopause and the fat sticks, but just feeling in control again is uplifting.

It's all about finding the right time to take that control back.

We’ve binned everything too. It’s so much about control. I need to lose 3 stone. I lost two stone in the first lockdown then put it all back on again and more. It’s frustrating. I’m back on it now.
LouMumsnet · 02/01/2021 11:45

Morning everyone and happy new year.

Thanks to those who've posted with supportive comments and advice on the thread. We've had a fair few reports about some of the response on here and we thought this was a good moment to pop our heads round the door with a little reminder.

Please could folk bear in mind that everyone on Mumsnet (and beyond) is fighting their own battles right now and that it never hurts to show a bit of peace and love in these circumstances.

Thanks all.

CautiousOptimist · 02/01/2021 11:45

I’m with you OP, I’m 11.5 stone now and absolutely determined to do something about it by spring. For me it’ll be Fast 800 initially and then 5:2. Started yesterday and feeling positive.

Danu2021 · 02/01/2021 11:46

The thread title is absolutely FINE. Half way through lockdown, I could have posted this. But I lost it quickly fasting. I was really shocked though, that I'd got that big. It was big.

Total strangers on the internet telling me that they were 15 stone, 22 stone, 20 stone would never have made me feel any less overweight and shocked that I'd let my weight rise so quickly.

PurpleDaisies · 02/01/2021 11:46

That’s not right, I’ve attached a screen shot here for 5ft7 9stone.

The range is 8stone6-11stone5.

OMG I'm 11 stone
Teaplease29 · 02/01/2021 11:46

I'm 5 foot 6 and tipped 12 stone earlier this year (May) after having a baby. I was kind to myself.. I grew a baby but knew I wasn't the right weight for me. I had a double chin, fat blotchy arms and trousers all felt so uncomfy. Hated myself in photos.
Down to 10 stone 12 now but still a few more pound to loose.
It doesn't matter if OP is not massive to start with... neither was I... your 'happy weight' is what matters and OP is just as entitled to feel motivated to change as somebody with a much higher weight/BMI.

ImnotCarolineHirons · 02/01/2021 11:47

@MrsMiaWallis if you're a morning/breakfast person, you can start your 8 hour window then? This may mean missing out on a family evening meal but if you are ok with that, why not give it a try. It's very effective.

Danu2021 · 02/01/2021 11:47

Good luck! If you're new to fasting and feel starving, a babybel is great for 'killing' a hunger pang stone dead.

I prefer to keep things easy on fast days. And save my washing chopping cooking energy for non fast days!

SchrodingersImmigrant · 02/01/2021 11:48

@MrsMiaWallis I can't do 16:8 too, you are not alone. I like my food spread out.

MrsMiaWallis · 02/01/2021 11:49
@MrsMiaWallis I can't do 16:8 too, you are not alone. I like my food spread out.
Good to know I'm not alone! I've lost weight successfully in the past by low carbing and or calories.

PurpleDaisies · 02/01/2021 11:49

Me too. Fasting doesn’t work for me. Neither does low carb-all my favourites in the bin.

There isn’t one hepatitis way to lost weight. It’s finding what works for your lifestyle.

Seasaltyhair · 02/01/2021 11:50

Yep OP I’m not far off. Stepped on the scales this morning Sad

As I’ve got older my weight always ends up at 10,6st if I’m not watching it.

I can’t wear any of my clothes and living in baggy t-shirts and jeans/leggings.

When the kids are back in school I’m going to start getting on my exercise bike and doing 16:8 again. I’m happy at 9,4.

I’ve done many rounds of IVF and it messes you up!

My curse now is because the kids are off school and going bed late I want to stay up for at least some time by myself and I’m hitting the cheese and crackers late 😩

PurpleDaisies · 02/01/2021 11:50

Healthy-not hepatitis!

I don’t recommend the hepatitis diet!!!
