Carole Middleton the ultimate mum raising a future queen?

I'm currently reading Harry & Meghan's book Finding Freedom... Meghan's parents particularly Doria have been applauded for putting such an emphasis on Meghan's education, ensuring she got into an expensive Catholic school & ensuring she worked very hard at school...
Surely the Middleton's should get the same praise but they were ridiculed & accused of being upwardly mobile... Kate & Pippa both attended excellent universities so they obviously worked very hard also..
The other parents in the girkd private school weren't too complimentary about Carole either with snipes about the girls uniforms, sports equipment etc too perfect. I reckon the other parents were jealous.
In my opinion Carole has done an amazing job raising out future queen & should be given more credit...

I think a lot of people see the one dimensional representation of famous/rich people and think that is who they are rather than that is who they are for that editorial, etc. The assumption for years that models are stupid illustrates this - they might make their living doing something that doesn’t on the surface seem to require much brain power but it is only one aspect of who they are.

They still have to maintain friendships, be a brother or sister, aunt or parent and those close relationships will still require input.

Kate will not actually be the Queen.. but I agree re Carole. She did what any mother would do if they could.

CoolCatTaco · 02/01/2021 21:13

Such utter bollocks, I would never want that type of life for my DD. Insane, inane nonsense.

I met Carole once.
Through her party business.
She was incredibly rude.
She wasn't even known then.

Of course she will be the Queen.

Queen Consort rather than Queen Regnant, but still the Queen

This looks like a poem.

She was selling old tat
To fund expensive schools
And buy nice outfits
To make her look classy

She didn't have time to be polite
Until she entered polite society
But now she is the ultimate mum
To our future Queen

Yes she will. Queen Elizabeth- The Queens Mother was Queen (consort). Do you watch the Crown? Scene in series one where Mary of Teck is explaining about the three living Queens, but only one is THE Queen.
Brightonbabe5 · 02/01/2021 23:28

Please explain how she was rude!

There are plenty who would disparage Meghan’s career - scantily dressed TV hostess/working girl trying to make it in the harsh world of entertainment depending on the narrative.

She has a degree from Northwestern University. Despite the fact that it it virtually unknown in the UK, it ranks among the most selective universities in the US.

What is crass is the attitudes and lack of class people with new money often have
A lot of old money came from exploitation of others, including but not limited to the exploitation of enslaved people.

MarthasGinYard · 03/01/2021 06:54

Carole please

Have you found some old helium balloons in your garage

inquietant · 03/01/2021 07:01

I guess if you think the ultimate achievement for a daughter is 'princess' Hmm

I tend to be impressed by people who do things.

Absolutely exactly what I was saying

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 03/01/2021 09:54

I thought Meghan was raised by her father and her mother had very little to do with it.

In oppisite land yeah

Facelikearustytractor · 03/01/2021 10:13

I don't give a shite to be honest. It's easier to be a good parent if you have money and lots of opportunities. I would applaud a single mother working minimum wage who managed to raise someone special, even then it may have nothing to do with them and be down to the grit and determination of the child alone.

Lewis Hamilton's dad worked three jobs to get him into a sport that you need lots of money to get into. He wasn't exactly living in poverty and had a pretty good job, but his dad made a lot of sacrifices.

Kate Middleton is not on my radar at all as somebody special. She seems like a nice person and I'm sure she has done a lot for charities, but I can't really recall anything that she has done.

Indecisive12 · 03/01/2021 14:28

@Averyyounggrandmaofsix her dad was very involved, they co parented we’ll and get paid for and supported her through education

LadyfromtheBelleEpoque · 03/01/2021 22:37

@Indecisive12

What is the story with her dad? I thought he was problematic to her? He wasn’t at the wedding?

NotPrude · 03/01/2021 22:55

@LadyfromtheBelleEpoque The story with her dad is well known - he sold her out to newspapers just days before the wedding, pretending that he was being harassed but actually arranged the paid shots. He then said he had a heart attack and can't make it (unclear if he really did have a heart attack).

Since then, he did countless paid interviews about her, and claimed that he hadn't heard from her before the wedding and was begging for her to get in touch. Turns out both Meghan and Harry were in regular contact with him and wanted to help him, but he turned down their help.

He may have been a loving father growing up but he turned into a nasty piece of work, constantly selling out his own daughter for money.

Yet somehow, many people feel her dad is a victim in this.

LadyfromtheBelleEpoque · 03/01/2021 23:52

@Notprude

That is very sad to hear. She could have done with her dad there, I imagine. The saddest thing was seeing just her and her mum at that wedding.

Norfolker · 04/01/2021 00:32

Yes totally agree Belle. Doria looked so composed & proud. She has an amazing presence but it was sad seeing none of her immediate family there. Kate's wedding in comparison was such a Middleton affair & one could feel the support Kate had behind her
