I wouldn’t like it because I am not a night owl but if that was my appointment then yes I would do it.

HibernatingTill2030 · 31/12/2020 02:14

Yes. As long as its as local, I don't drive. If it wasn't taxi distance, I'd need a daytime appt.

480Widdio · 31/12/2020 02:16

Yes,always up until 3am,hate the daytime,always have.

BeanieB2020 · 31/12/2020 02:18

Absolutely yes. It's one late night. No big deal.

Coasterfan · 31/12/2020 02:19

Yes I drive, back to WFH every day now and can leave DH with the DC, I d happily have it at a random time so the day time appointments can be left for those without childcare/transport.

Wingedharpy · 31/12/2020 02:23

I'm free now if anyone's offering?

Bloodybridget · 31/12/2020 02:39

Yes I would. It's so important that as many people as possible get vaccinated in as short a time as possible, it's up to all of us to do whatever we can to help expedite the rollout. Of course some people wouldn't be able to do late nights, fair enough.

Topseyt · 31/12/2020 02:41

Yes, as long as it is local to me.

Shr1881 · 31/12/2020 02:41

Yes, I think I would.

ilovesooty · 31/12/2020 02:42

Absolutely.

StopSquirtingBleachOnCaneToads · 31/12/2020 03:04

Yes, of course. You either want the vaccine or not.

However considerations would need to be made in regards to transport. I have a car so it's a no brainer for me, but obviously others rely on public transport and taxis - including a high percentage of vulnerable people, who will be most in need of the vaccine. That complicates things for those people. So we'd need to make sure they were able to get there.

gotyerhat · 31/12/2020 03:08

God I'd be there dressed as a clown and doing cartwheels if that's what they wanted me to do.

WanderingMilly · 31/12/2020 03:17

Yes, I'd certainly do it....can't seem to sleep through the night these days anyway so I'm often up wandering around at 3am. I could drive myself there though, so easy for me; I guess not so easy for lone parents or those who haven't got transport.
In fact, if it was at the local village GP, I'd happily walk there, even at 3am!

1frenchfoodie · 31/12/2020 03:21

Sure. But is this seriously being discussed? It was a question at the PM’s press conference yesterday (from LBC?). The response - that the limiting factor on ramping up vaccinations was supply -suggested a 24-7 operation wouldnt impact on volumes, at least not in initial months (think they talked of march til the UK has 10s of millions of doses)

crappyyear · 31/12/2020 03:25

@AgnesNaismith

I would get up at 2am, drive 3 hours and wait for 2 hours to have the vaccine.
This !
EmmaGrundyForPM · 31/12/2020 03:29

Yes I would. But I really can't see this happening. There aren't enough health workers to allow this to happen.

PuddyMuddles4 · 31/12/2020 03:40

I have no problem with doing it any time night or day, if I was ever going to get it done. Thing is - no bloody way am I letting them put a rushed, untested vaccine into my body. Not going to happen.

oakleaffy · 31/12/2020 03:40

I'd do anything to get one!
Lucky are they who are offered one. At any time.

popsydoodle4444 · 31/12/2020 03:59

As as DH was off work and could drive me then yes;kids would be asleep and eldest is nearly 17 so could pop out for up to an hour including travel time

grey12 · 31/12/2020 04:05

No I wouldn't because I have small kids.

However before kids I would have been fine with it Wink

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 31/12/2020 04:05

Of course! I am also a nightowl so 2:15 i'd be happy with but 6:30am not so much! Would still go to any though. When it comes to ending a global pandemic i don't think people shoild be petty about things like this - being mildly inconvenienced, but just be grateful to have the vaccine.

Wiredforsound · 31/12/2020 04:11

Absolutely.

Porridgeoat · 31/12/2020 04:14

I would only be doing it for my work with the elderly so would need to claim working hours for the drive and appointment time.

I wouldn’t bother having the injection for myself so wouldn't attend a 2am appointment if I didn’t have my job

I would prefer a 5am appointment. As a woman I’d feel safer going on my own at this time.

It would probably work best if people can book their own test online using a code so that the early birds can choose the early bird slots and the night owls can choose the night owl slot.

jessstan1 · 31/12/2020 04:40

I would if I could get there without too much trouble. I'm often awake at that time.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 31/12/2020 04:52

I would but I can’t imagine getting the full complement of staff and volunteers to work those hours would be quite so easy.
I don’t know who ‘they’ are that are meant to be considering this but from the press conference question about this it didn’t sound like the people in charge were planning this.
They’re expecting the limiting factor to be availability of doses rather than hours in the day.
