The worst thing I see in here is when people with terminally ill children, or bereaved parents come on to tell us about their child and someone (usually more than one person) comes on to say "I have a child the same age reading this has made me hug them a little bit tighter"

Its so jaw droppingly insensitive, and the people commenting don't seem to see it.

Sorry your kid died but I'm hugging mine because your story made me sad so never mind.

I've had this said to me on here and in real life, and I absolutely hate it.

Agree, it's a disgusting comment to make and I cannot understand how anyone saying it thinks it is anything other than a smug, boastful ooh look at me I am so lucky to still have my child, let me rub your nose in that fact.

I equally hate it when people say they are crying for the other person, so the person they are crying for now feels they have to comfort them, it's just so self centred and crass.

I went on a group ski trip in my 20s where about 18 of us shared a chalet with a hot tub. I swear by day four you could stand a spoon up in it, it was like porridge.....

My response is more like "wow your mom is a real asshole... But my mom who was a fucking saint is dead... How fair!" Because that's what pisses me off... They definitely bhave a right to complain... But it sucks that horrible people outlive the amazing ones.
