Aibu to be really pissed off. I bought a large box of roses chocs for xmas day & DP ate the whole fucking tub yesterday. I haven’t had any and the kids had 2 each.

I know it’s petty but it’s just fucking greedy/ selfish - it’s going to be a looooong few days 🤪

I am the fattest, greediest person I know. By a loooong way.

During November I was writing a novel (for NaNoWriMo) and I had a tub of Roses beside me on the desk all through the month, and chomped my way through 4 tubs full.

Not only did my DH not get any, for some reason he didn't feel the need to call me a heaving mess or refuse to give me sex. Probably because he loves me. In fact, he bought me 6 tubs of Quality Street in case I ran out!

My point here is that even with that incentive and availability, I still took a week to eat a tub, not a single day. Seriously, that is a LOT. Your annoyance and demand for replacement is completely justifiable, but I agree with PPs that it might be wise to look out for diabetes symptoms.

And yes, my diet and exercise programme starts January 1st!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 24/12/2020 02:56

Is DP Mr. Creosote?

Aspiringmatriarch · 24/12/2020 03:03

It's greedy, but I've been comfort eating like mad lately, especially after the recent announcements about Christmas. So I do feel some sympathy. As long as he replaces them, I'd let it go, personally. The poster whose DH ate the Christmas pudding though ShockShockShock.

ChasingRainbows19 · 24/12/2020 05:54

Our snacks are still in the bag upstairs. Neither of us have touched it because they are for Christmas and I’m working until 8 tonight. That’s when they get opened.

My partner wouldn’t even think of eating them all and he loves chocolate.

Regardless of weight/size/palm oil etc it was greedy and selfish to do it.

soopedup · 24/12/2020 06:08

That is a lot of sugar. Does he often scoff that much chocolate?

Bluntness100 · 24/12/2020 06:20

That’s an awful lot of chocolate to eat in one day. Does he have an eating disorder?

TroysMammy · 24/12/2020 06:27

I've never known anyone to like every chocolate in a tub of Roses, Quality Street, Celebrations or Heroes.

tara66 · 24/12/2020 06:32

May all his teeth fall out.

Helpneededbyanoutsider · 24/12/2020 17:48

You can some of ours...12 boxes and counting from mums work- she’s a post lady and people give gifts of wine/ chocolate etc.

August1980 · 24/12/2020 17:55

Gosh! This Roses thing. I didn’t grow up in the UK so I don’t get it. My English husband is mad over Roses. I bought a small carton of it a few weeks ago as I used to see it at his mothers house at Christmas. She passed on now. So I brought a small one just as a token of memory for him! God he was so annoyed I bought a small one - which he ate in one sitting. I had to trawl the shops so he can have another over Christmas.. he requested a large one this time 😉.

exaltedwombat · 24/12/2020 18:27

I guess he was brought up in a privileged world where chocolates weren't just only a special Christmas treat but commonplace all year round! Oh, wait, that's everyone since about 1968... Make him suffer though 😀

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 24/12/2020 19:17

I'd be livid OP.

Almost all our After Eights are gone but I helped with that

jules0607 · 24/12/2020 19:34

Have you got his life insured... just a thought 🤔

Ginfordinner · 24/12/2020 19:36

@HeartsTrumpDiamonds

I'd be livid OP.

Almost all our After Eights are gone but I helped with that

I'd be delighted Grin

I really don't like Roses "chocolates"

MissBaskinIfYoureNasty · 24/12/2020 19:38

That's rancid. Are you married to Augustus Gloop? Just imagining a human body processing all of that in one go is making me feel a bit nauseous.

Justbrutallyhonest · 24/12/2020 20:06

Roses are cheap shit anyway

Mumtum43 · 24/12/2020 20:57

My husband did exactly the same. TWICE. There are no large tubs left in the shops. At least it stops me eating them!

Weebleonaworkout · 24/12/2020 21:04

I'd buy him a bar of Exlax chocolate and disguise it. He won't be in such a hurry to scoff the lot next timeGrin

Brefugee · 24/12/2020 21:30

A box or a tub? A box contains about 20 chocolates and if the kids had two each he ate appropriately 16 chocolates. An entire tub on the other hand is incredibly greedy.

how is emptying a container of sweets meant for the whole family not greedy fucker behaviour? not making sure everyone had some?

Oceanwaves2018 · 24/12/2020 21:36

Get a grip, bigger things in the world to worry & complain about. He’s replacing them. FFS!!

BadTattoosAndSmellLikeBooze · 24/12/2020 21:43

Did he manage to get another tub today OP or are you going to LTB on Xmas Eve lonely and surrounded by his roses wrappers? 🤣

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/12/2020 21:50

That's definitely grounds to LTB. Wink. Although I could eat a full box in one day no messing. Grin

Stressybetty · 24/12/2020 22:04

Read this out to my DH. He just laughed and said "Good lad" 🙄

Brockaslass · 24/12/2020 22:23

Just smile calmly at him ask h how he's feeling and say "Oh I hope your gonna be ok darling, because the reason we didn't eat them all earlier was because I just saw the recall notice from Cadburys. The ones with that batch number where all recalled yesterday due to the fact they may have salmonella in (or some other horrible food posion type Illness) and watch him suddenly become ill and want sympathy.

fluffi · 24/12/2020 23:04

Do you mean the 500-700g tubs? Assuming your DH hasn't suddenly developed a sweet tooth / love of chocolate then its not unreasonable to expect him to consume them, once you have one its difficult not to continue! If he normally consumes more than one or two chocolates a sitting then it may have been sensible to purchase more than 1 tub!

PS: Don't understand these people that only have a couple of chocs a day ... if I have a tub (which i never buy myself because its dangerous) I finish it either in a single sitting or within the day!
