Aibu to be really pissed off. I bought a large box of roses chocs for xmas day & DP ate the whole fucking tub yesterday. I haven’t had any and the kids had 2 each.

I know it’s petty but it’s just fucking greedy/ selfish - it’s going to be a looooong few days 🤪

Yes said him out for more! That would totally naff me off! Nobody gets between me and my chocolate! DJ has made the mistake of hiding mine in the past. He got my wrath GrinWink

Ginfordinner · 23/12/2020 18:46

YABU. Roses are rank and sickly sweet. I agree with other comments - how does he not feel sick? Cadburys "chocolate" doesn't even deserve to be called chocolate.

laudemio · 23/12/2020 18:48

How was he not sick??!

thecognoscenti · 23/12/2020 18:48

@TeenageMutantNinjaCovid

He saved you from palm oil hell

He deserves a medal

This. I can't believe people buy stuff with it in given the environmental disaster it is.
BillieSpain · 23/12/2020 18:50

Mine has eaten the Christmas pudding (foe 4 people) that was SO hard to source where I live.

No more available.

I am speechless.

YANBU OP

@Worriedandabitscared

I also did this Blush but but but I'm 34 weeks pregnant so I get some sympathy points, right? Like it was the baby's fault, baby's aren't reasonable and have no self control Grin
I did this too. I'm also pregnant (27w but I look and feel about 40).Blush
Cherrysoup · 23/12/2020 18:56

@BillieSpain wtaf?! Christmas pudding is strictly for Christmas Day! I’d be incandescent if my dh did that, not that he ever would. I find that really bizarre!

I8toys · 23/12/2020 19:00

YABU - Hotel Chocolat I'd be pissed off but not worth it over Roses

BlueBottle18 · 23/12/2020 19:01

Eating the roses tin Id forgive. And tbh if hes going to buy another I dont really understand the issue. Id be a bit pissed off if DP called me disgustingly greedy for eating too much chocolate

But the christmas pudding? Thats like snacking on the turkey!

JonHammIsMyJamm · 23/12/2020 19:01

Roses are disgusting now. Replace them with Celebrations and hide them from him.

InFiveMins · 23/12/2020 19:01

Why do you put up with it then? He's selfish as well as greedy. Send him out to buy more, and something extra for you and the children too.

WhoUsedMyName · 23/12/2020 19:02

@lookingatthings @Worriedandabitscared I was just reading the thread but seeing your comments I'm 38weeks pregnant I also have two tubs of quality streets can I do them both? BlushGrin

I wouldn't judge you Grin

Winterwoollies · 23/12/2020 19:04

That is revolting.

LH1987 · 23/12/2020 19:04

I’m slightly impressed that he was able to do it,it’s like something from Man vs Food 😳

lovingllamaa · 23/12/2020 19:06

YABU as quality streets, celebrations or heroes are all far superior to roses.

Guylan · 23/12/2020 19:06

Obviously cannot condone the greediness or selfish behaviour - but I although I find chocolate brands like Cadbury’s so sickly and extremely sweet they are like crack and once I start I can eat a far too obscene amount of them. I can be a lot more measured with high cocoa milk chocolate

OccultGnuAsWell · 23/12/2020 19:06

WhoUsedMyName

Think you'll be ok as long as you're having twins

WhoUsedMyName · 23/12/2020 19:07

@Worriedandabitscared challenge accepted 😂

MagicSummer · 23/12/2020 19:08

Hope he feels sick, OP, and you are well rid of those horrid, cheap chocolates. Go out and buy some decent ones for you alone tomorrow!

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 23/12/2020 19:09

I can assure you Quality Street are just as vile.

I only bought a small box this year. They have eaten them but l wasn't fussed as there will be other chocolate on Christmas Day, choc that is actually nice. Well our preference anyway.

gallbladderpain · 23/12/2020 19:10

Ah this is the first post on mumsnet in ages that i've been able to reaonate with !
The same happened in our house ! Luckily i bought more than 1 tub but it just wasn't quite the point !! haha

jessstan1 · 23/12/2020 19:10

@Rudolph98

Tell him to go buy some more!
Yes! They will still be available in all sorts of places plus Quality Street, Heroes and the like and if he can't find a big tub, two smaller ones will suffice.

He is well greedy, I'd be livid. Not forever but suitably so. I'm surprised he isn't sick. In his place I would be shamefaced.

Hide them from him and bring them out when you feel like doing so.

BarbaraofSeville · 23/12/2020 19:12

@Ginfordinner

This. I love it when DP eats all the nasty chocolates we get given, because it saves me from eating them even when I don't like them.

We've been given a tub but it's wrapped up so I don't know what it is out of celebrations, roses, hereos or quality street.

I don't like any of roses or heroes so I'm hoping it's neither of those. Perhaps if it is, I should send it to the OP.

If it's celebrations or quality street, I'll eat the coconut or toffee, and hope that DP eats the rest.

NotDavidTennant · 23/12/2020 19:15

I've just looked it up and a tub is 600g. That's the equivalent of about 12 Mars bars! Does he have an eating disorder?
