@Neenan

THAT, dear OP is lightly toasted bread.

I prefer it a little darker myself and cooled sufficiently so that the butter doesn’t melt, and can be spread thickly like pate. Followed by a thin layer of Marmite.

There is no other way to eat toast.

OMG, were we separated at birth??
Ilovesandwiches · 22/12/2020 20:35

More done than how I like it but not burnt by any stretch of the imagination! That’s what I’d say is normal toast :) x

mineofuselessinformation · 22/12/2020 20:36

No

Marmite27 · 22/12/2020 20:37

That toast is practically warm bread! Not as anaemic as my brother likes it, but underdone for me.

Biglumpycustard · 22/12/2020 20:38

That’s perfect toast.

AuditAngel · 22/12/2020 20:38

Definitely not burnt, but not well done enough for me!

amusedbush · 22/12/2020 20:39

Definitely not burnt! I eat toast slightly darker than yours and I stand it up (I prop the slices against each other like I'm building a house of cards) until it's cold before I butter it. I can't stand hot, melty buttered toast, it turns my stomach Envy

Meowchickameowmeow · 22/12/2020 20:41

It's barely cooked.

inappropriateraspberry · 22/12/2020 20:41

Not burnt - perfect!

AdaColeman · 22/12/2020 20:42

That toast needs Gentleman's Relish!

inappropriateraspberry · 22/12/2020 20:43

Your toast is not burnt - it is toasted. What does he call actual burnt toast?

sanityisamyth · 22/12/2020 20:43

No I'd say that's about right!

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 22/12/2020 20:44

Gentleman's Relish?

Xmas Shock
Whatnext2018 · 22/12/2020 20:44

Just right!

BeakyWinder · 22/12/2020 20:46

Hang on, you married him before deciding a correct toaster setting? Shock

Ginkypig · 22/12/2020 20:48

It’s not even toast yet!

SwankySharky · 22/12/2020 20:49

I am the 1%.

It's got brown bits though.

amatsip · 22/12/2020 20:49

Not burnt for me but my asd 8 year old would refuse it as it is too well done for her liking.

CovidCarol · 22/12/2020 20:52

Shock Go and stand in the corner.

Ooh I really fancy some toast and marmalade now 🤤

Waveysnail · 22/12/2020 20:53

Nope but dc3 would say yes. He essentially likes warm bread

cate16 · 22/12/2020 20:54

I guess I'm the only with with your husband then!

Twistiesandshout · 22/12/2020 20:54

@TVDFan

Thank you! DH is currently eating humble pie Grin

He made me some toast that was basically warm bread and still white. I made some myself instead (seen in pic) and he was adamant it was burnt 🙄😅

Justmuddlingalong · 22/12/2020 20:56

Print that picture off and stick it to the toaster. Then he'll know next time. 😉

QueenPaws · 22/12/2020 21:01

Toasted literally means to brown food. Not heat it up so it's warm bread Grin

diddl · 22/12/2020 21:01

I think that some people are confusing burnt with more toasted than to their taste!
