Not burnt, but the kids where I work would say it was burnt...they like warm bread.

He made me some toast that was basically warm bread and still white. I made some myself instead (seen in pic) and he was adamant it was burnt 🙄😅

Not burnt however butter was added too soon, toast should cool down before adding butter so it stays crunchy - fact!

You've described my perfect toast nightmare! I can't stand cold toast... it should be buttered, marmaladed (new word 🤣) and transferred to mouth while hot!

Agree with most others that's barely done/medium rare. Nowhere near burnt.

Sounds like he needs more practice at toast making. You never know, if he manages that, he might be able to move on to adding eggs or beans by the end of the year.

Underdone if anything. Toast isn't burnt until you can draw a picture with it.

My husband would call that severely under done. We know when his is just right, as the fire alarm let's us know .

I dont care what colour mine is (preferably not charcoal), but it has to be hot enough to instantly melt the butter, and turn the whole thing into soggy goodness.
