Sneezing very loudly

My NDN does a sneeze which is the loudest I've ever heard, it kind of turns into a very loud scream noise. Makes me jump even through the wall, never heard anything like it. Last night woke me up in the middle of the night. Has to be heard to be believed. (I don't think they're especially ill or something because they do it a lot ie over months)

For background, NDN very noisy, constantly screaming at their dc and slamming doors, very loud in the garden, etc types

AIBU to think they could sneeze quieter eg if they were at the cinema or at work, or is sneeze volume fixed?

My dh does this - he yells at the same time. Very loudly! I’ve told him so many times that it’s not necessary to ‘voice’ it but I’ve given up now. He was once very upset when one of his sneezes frightened a very tiny new dd so much, she cried for ages.
But even that didn’t stop him!

I blame my otherwise lovely MiL (RIP) for not firmly putting her foot down when he was small - I dare say it was an attention-seeking thing.

If I try to stifle it I seem to make more noise!

I HATE that. It is utterly rude and totally unnecessary.

I live with a ridiculously loud sneezer too, so I feel your pain OP. He actually hurts my ears!
