"Yes because I dont trust people to follow the tiered rules. Lockdown is a clearer message."

That’s my feeling too.

TheBuffster · 21/12/2020 20:24

@ForestNymph thank you, your kind words are much appreciated.
Of course in normal circumstances we'd likely have decent emotional support, both professional and friends, but endless lockdowns have meant talking to people face to face is out.

Lorius · 21/12/2020 20:27

Glad to see so many people support the prioritisation of saving lives instead of the economy and the 'right' to buy gin and go for walks.

What we need to have is a total lockdown with £1000 on the spot fines for breaches. I'm sure far fewer people would suddenly then 'need to' buy gin or go for walks that may end up killing people.

Its awful not being able to see any medics face to face. I don't know how I'd have handled it if what happened to DD had happened during the lockdown. You are an incredibly strong person and I wish you and your baby all the best.

Have you actually read any of this thread? Babies unable to access medical care? Kids with special needs having meltdowns and unable to cope?

Why the fuck do you think this is about gin? Lockdown harms people too you daft muppet

demitrimendeleev1 · 21/12/2020 20:32

@ForestNymph and yet 650+ people have expressed support for another one

@Preparefortheflaming

I’d rather do a really harsh lockdown for a few weeks than all this we’ve had on and off all year
Someone Please tell me what a harsh lockdown is ? Also why do you think if we have a harsh lockdown afterwards we can then reopen everything and carry on as normal ?
TheBuffster · 21/12/2020 20:36

To be fair I think I could do with some gin.

Delatron · 21/12/2020 20:36

People are definitely killing other people by going for walks outside. The science has shown this unequivocally. Just don’t ever leave the house.

demitrimendeleev1 · 21/12/2020 20:38

@Lorius have you staid at home since March?

Myself, DH and the DC (12 and 9) have not left the house since March, no.

Did the school not fine you? How has your family’s mental health been. Are any of you CEV? Why has you DH gone along with this

Adults are one thing, but there is absolutely no way I am keeping my three year old DD locked up in the house. Just no.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 21/12/2020 20:43

Imagine thinking that going for walks is killing people. Never read anything so melodramatic in my life.

@studychick81

No, it just doesn't make sense anymore with what he now know about the virus and the tiny amount who die from it. Now we have the vaccine once those who most need it have had it I don't see how they can justify it.

I was fully supportive of the March one and reluctantly went along with the November one too. In the March one I was scared and followed the rules religiously, thought everyone needs to their bit.

But I ve changed my mind now. I ve had enough. The country can't go on hold any longer, businesses and people's lives are being effected too much now. We can't just keep going in and out of lockdown.

My feelings exactly
Lorius · 21/12/2020 20:47

@demitrimendeleev1

My DC are both being home educated for now.

We believe as a family that it would be selfish for the DC to attend school because of the impact schools are having on the transmission of COVID in society.

What do your kids think about this? What about your DH? Are the whole family seriously on board with this?

Our 'lockdowns' though have been a walk in the park and as a result we have had 80,000+ deaths

Yeah such a walk in the park...a record number of business closing, unemployment is starting to match the Thatcher years, people dying due to delayed treatments, mental health of the population is at an all time low and children's education has suffered.

Like a sunny fucking day it's been

Tell me @Lorius what do you do for a living? I bet it's something where you haven't had to look after people, teach children or be affected in the least. You reel of "I'm alright Jack"
