to think Matt Hancock looks knackered

Just watched Marr show
Tetchy, knackered
Obvious why - he must have an enormous workload and responsibility

But being knackered and tetchy can't be good for decision making.

I still can't get over the fake cry/weird laugh he did on GMB when the vaccine was first rolled out. He's waaay out of his depth, as is Johnson, and probably most days wakes up hoping it was all a bad dream. Nobody goes into any job expecting to have to deal with this. But I do blame the government 100%, the handling of it has been awful.

madcatladyforever · 24/12/2020 06:44

He must be waking up every morning wondering how he ended up in this shit show. He's doing better than I would. Id be in a straight jacket by now.

stanlet · 24/12/2020 06:54

@lucywho123

No sympathy from me. He’s paid well and is doing a terrible job. On top of that he laughs his way through briefings like this is some kind of joke. Alright for him though, in his lovely big house, not a care in the world when it comes to feeding his family and having a roof over their heads. Whatever tier us minions are all put in, MP’s really don’t care because their jobs are safe either way
Anyone can work hard and become an MP if they want to.
Whatayear1234 · 24/12/2020 07:11

I feel sorry for him.
I feel sorry for all of us.

Its been a nightmare.

loulouljh · 24/12/2020 07:19

I don't know as I can no longer look at this face..I have to turn him over. I suspect he is though..regardless of my thoughts about him (incompetent patronising twat) he has been under alot of pressure. Clearly.

loulouljh · 24/12/2020 07:22

And I think most of the population is knackered...I am so tired. Have worked very hard this year with the kids at home for a bit chunk of it too. Have not had a break (and our planned break for next week now off)> Unable to plan. Everything changing constantly. Worried about the kids education. Yes I am knackered. Probably look it too!

He schemed his way up the greasy political pole, is extremely wealthy, denied carers a pay rise..... zero sympathy.

i'll reserve sympthy for someone working in the NHS, stressed out, working long shifts, risking their lives, dealing with distraught relatives and earning well below 30k p.a. plus paying to park their car for the privilege

I actually quite fancy him after that Twitter thread.

MarshaBradyo · 24/12/2020 14:03

It’s been hellish and the media have been prodding away the entire time.

alphabetsoup1980 · 24/12/2020 14:21

@emilyfrost

Of course he is, because people are dicks and find it easy to blame him for having to deal with an unprecedented pandemic rather than seeing he’s just trying his best and you can’t please everyone.

The population are like children: nobody realises and understands that their parents have to do what’s best for them and make the hard decisions, especially when they can’t be trusted to be responsible themselves.

This is hilarious!! 😂😂😂 You do know what sort of person he is, right? Irrespective of a pandemic happening, he is fairly vile...
MorganKitten · 24/12/2020 14:31

Was he fake crying again?

User158340 · 24/12/2020 14:33

The work that man has put in this year for Britain.

If he doesn't come out of this with a knighthood then the honors system is a farce.

ListeningQuietly · 24/12/2020 14:39

Matt Hancock is financially and morally corrupt.
In the due course of time he will be convicted.
GOOD.

Splodgetastic · 24/12/2020 14:46

I was a bit rude about him a few weeks ago but now I feel a bit sorry for him. He probably won’t even get a proper day off tomorrow.

FoxyTheFox · 24/12/2020 16:29

My heart bleeds for him... Hmm

DfEisashambles · 24/12/2020 17:18

Don’t shoot me here but am I the only one who finds him kind of pitiful? No idea why.

Yes, a bit pathetic. At first i felt sorry for him. I thought he was a caring enough mam but way out of his depth. Now he comes across as someone trying to fake compassion and still out of his depth.
Lancrelady80 · 24/12/2020 20:08

I thought he looked downright ill. Knackered, stressed and sick to the stomach at being sent out to deliver another unpopular message that Boris should really have been involved in delivering.

He's out of his depth. They all are - to be fair, the same's true of all politicians around the globe. They've made mess up after mess up. I don't trust them, don't like them and can't believe for one second that they actually have an effective plan. Their screwing around and delays have led to many deaths whilst at the same time messing up the economy with the start/stops- ironically, exactly what they were hoping to avoid.

But on a human level, I feel sorry for the man.

DfEisashambles · 24/12/2020 20:13

@SufferingFromLongLockdown yes quite

I do think though, he’s the go to scapegoat for Boris.

ancientgran · 25/12/2020 11:39

If he doesn't come out of this with a knighthood then the honors system is a farce. I think he needs his P45, a very public ceremony to present it to him would be good.

There were a few of those ceremonies in the 16&1700s but we try to avoid these days.

Sarcasm or stupidity, Its hard to tell on the internet.
ginandbearit · 25/12/2020 16:19

Hes a plodding mid manager type always looking as if he's about to be caught out by a question from an adult ..I briefly felt sorry for him ..but he's taken Boris' shilling and more by luck than good judgement has survived so far.. A knighthood maybe then off to the sanitorium for a spell ..

ancientgran · 25/12/2020 19:19

There were a few of those ceremonies in the 16&1700s but we try to avoid these days. Did they involve beheadings? I wouldn't go that far.
