I don’t have any sympathy for republicans even the ones that aren’t in the 150 that objected today. They knew exactly who he was and what he stood for years ago and then handed him the nomination

What happens if Congress fails to count the electoral vote today?

I understand it's a constitutional requirement to do on this date, starting at 1pm.

Can't they simply do this "tomorrow" or are the implications more significant?

They have to do it within 5 days of starting the process.

It doesn't have to be done on the Hill - they could meet elsewhere and do it.

I want him to be arrested not just because it's Trump but also because he can't be allowed to get away with this. Or anyone else.

Fox News guests and presenters are all consistently horrified at what's happening. They're referring to it as a coup, an attack on democracy, they're talking about incitement by the president.

I think I'm actually more surprised by that than by the fact that the coup is happening at all. That's been on the cards for a while now.

Surely they'll be even more desperate to get the process completed after this! I guess it might have to be in a secret location or something though.
