Just that. Am curious to see what MNers would do if offered.

YANBU - I WOULD have the vaccine.

YABU - I WOULD NOT have the vaccine.

Am 40. NHS worker. Healthy and low risk.

I had mine Monday, I’ve had a headache for a couple of days and feel really tired but otherwise I’m fine. Looking forward to the second dose.

christmasathomeagain · 17/12/2020 18:06

Of course I will be there when offered to me.

DappledThings · 17/12/2020 18:06

@kayhylton

YABU - i dont blame other for wanting it but my body doesn't do well with things being added, its so bad that even in pregnancy i suffer from HG... Always end up very sick the moment anything foreign is in my body. I wouldnt know how long it would take to settle in my body.
Anything added to your body? Everything you eat or drink makes you sick? A apple is as "foreign" to your body as a vaccine is and arguably far more so than a fetus that was created in your body.
AutumnColours9 · 17/12/2020 18:07

I have had it with no problems and no hesitation

FastMovingLuxuryGoods · 17/12/2020 18:08

Yes of course I would.

As a healthy 40-something I'm way down the list but I'll be having it as soon as I'm offered it.

FastMovingLuxuryGoods · 17/12/2020 18:09

Will those who won't take it have to endure this abuse from now on?

You think asking a question about freely-offered information is...abuse? Blimey.

Oly4 · 17/12/2020 18:10

Can’t wait to get mine!!!

welshweasel · 17/12/2020 18:13

Yes absolutely! I just found out I’ve had the Oxford vaccine back in may as part of the trial - otherwise I’d have had the Pfizer one this week.

Florencemattell · 17/12/2020 18:16

Yes
I have had a reaction in past to flu but according to the online calculator there are 20 million people ahead of me in the queue, so by time I get it I will have a clearer idea.
But lucky you!

Randompersonisme · 17/12/2020 18:17

No but I'm currently breastfeeding.

gypsywater · 17/12/2020 18:19

I'm NHS front line but not having it as I am TTC.

Thirtyrock39 · 17/12/2020 18:23

I had mine Tuesday- it was a very emotional and positive experience - go for it

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 17/12/2020 18:25

Yes I would. Thankfully never had an adverse reaction to a vaccine (touch wood). Even had the swine flu vaccine during my first pregnancy and all was ok.

Riv12345 · 17/12/2020 18:27

I've got mine Monday evening!

I keep thinking and worrying about it though

I'm an NHS worker with asthma

What a great thread op I was thinking of starting one just to get peoples opinion as my daughter is quite anti vaccine
And has been saying a few things what concern her long term

user1494055864 · 17/12/2020 18:27

If you are in any doubt then don't. You don't have to be a sheep if it doesn't feel right to you. Trust your own instincts xx

UserEleventyNine · 17/12/2020 18:28

....according to the online calculator

Oh, that's interesting! Just looked and it says I could get it late Feb/early March. Will start counting down the days Smile Maybe I could have a trip away somewhere in April!

(I know there are a lot of variables and there's no guarantee it's accurate, but almost anything makes life a bit more interesting at the moment!)

Unescorted · 17/12/2020 18:30

My dad had it the other day... no side effects.

poppym12 · 17/12/2020 18:32

yes. can't come soon enough.

Topseyt · 17/12/2020 18:35

@user1498572889

Wow 90% for 10% against. I would have it even if it was shot by an arrow into my arse. 😀
I'm really struggling to get a mental image of that spectacle out of my mind now. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@baublesbaubleseverywhere

@Sushirolls can I ask why you've refused consent for your DM? I'm assuming if you need to consent on her behalf, then she's in a high risk category and covid would be very dangerous for her? Does she not agree / believe in vaccines

Is this how it's going to be from now on? Pushy people trying to scare and guilt-trip others into having/consenting to the vaccine?
If someone holds power of attorney for someone, the expectation is they will be making decisions in the person's best interest. So, considering that someone who doesn't have capacity (hence the LPA being used) is extremely highly likely to be in a group where covid could cause serious illness or death, I'd like to understand why it has been refused on their behalf. If the person was utterly anti vaccines then the decision could be justified in that it's what the person would likely have chosen themselves, if they were able to make that choice. If the person wasn't, however, I do struggle to understand how refusing consent for it on their behalf would be in their best interests. But I would like to try and understand which means I'd like more info if the poster is willing to give it.

Think of that what you will.

Torvean32 · 17/12/2020 18:36

I was part of a vaccine trial ( not pfizer) im hoping I've had it. If not it'll be a while till I'm eligible.

Better to trust the science.

Or rather than your instincts you could look up reliable information on the vaccine and make an informed choice? "Instinct" is really not a good way to make this kind of decision Confused
Parker231 · 17/12/2020 18:42

@trulydelicious - I don’t see any issues with my question. I’m in a low category for receiving the vaccine but want it asap as other countries may restrict entry without it and I want to see my and DH’s families, all of which live outside the U.K..

Stopyourhavering64 · 17/12/2020 18:42

I'm getting mine on Tuesday....I'm HCP and also clinically extremely vulnerable and have been working from home since March.....best Christmas present ever!
