To ask what is your 'side hustle' and how much do you earn?

I need to preface this with apologising for using the term 'side hustle'. I know it is hated by many Grin

I work part time but over the years I have supplemented my income with various side hustles. Cleaning, buying and selling, cake decorating, etc. Now I tutor and earn about 350 a month extra.

What is your side hustle if you have one and how much do you earn each month from it?

@Cakles2010 search for “Team Profit”. They have a website with a step by step guide (you need to sign up but don’t pay for it) plus they have a private Facebook page which is full of invaluable info and updated with offers several times a day.

Ploughingthrough · 12/12/2020 22:38

Writing. It's a industry that ebbs and flows with the academic year so I can make anything from £100-£1000 per month.

ViciousJackdaw · 12/12/2020 22:39

@MumOfPsuedoAdult

As an aside, what's wrong with the term 'side hustle'?
People who use the term are usually icing cakes, selling on Ebay or hammering the survey sites, not dealing cocaine and running with the county lines.

I do qmee and prolific, bout 100 a month, also do 20cogs, 80 quid back for 6 quid outlay, I'm taking the plunge next time and hitting the high paying cogs

ThisIsMeOrIsIt · 12/12/2020 22:43

I do online teaching for Outschool and run my own toddler group. I net about £700-800 a month for about 8 hours work a week.

@CherryPavlova please could I ask have you self published? How does it work? If you have a publisher how did you go about finding one? X

im5050 · 12/12/2020 22:46

I started doing insurance referrals
So with my dog I have insurance
I get a referral link from the insurance company and that I post on various FB groups that I’m on for dogs & cats and if anyone takes up the referral link and takes out insurance in a months time they get a amazon voucher and so do .
Since Oct I’ve made over £500 In vouchers
And I have another potential £350- £400 to come by end of December
I can get up to £3000 in Amazon vouchers a year from doing this .
Only thing Is that I have to use the voucher within a month of getting the voucher but it’s pretty much paid for most of my extra bits of Xmas stuff via amazon

@CardoMondo

It is for me as I was “gubbed” from all the top betting sites 😩
My little brother did matched betting for about a year I think. But he's "gubbed" by them all now lol
xyzandabc · 12/12/2020 22:49

Matched betting then low/medium risk casino. With just matched betting I was making around £2/300 a month. With casino around £600 a month on average over a year. But getting less and less as I've lost pretty much every major bookie now. When I lose the same number of casinos then it's probably time to call it a day.

Sobeyondthehills · 12/12/2020 22:51

Surveys and comping. Can get anything from £10 to £500 a month.

Normally averaging £60 a month though

Fluffybutter · 12/12/2020 22:51

I make wreaths .
Summer ones, autumn, Halloween and Christmas obviously.
It’s started out as just a hobby but people kept asking me to make them one so it kind of spiralled .
I make about £25-40 a wreath so it’s not a bad gig .

PigletJohn · 12/12/2020 22:52

I'm an interfering busybody and poke my snout into discussions on the web. It doesn't pay well.

I help out a small business owner with his website and he used to give me a £50 voucher at Christmas, but he's stopped now.

I've been a volunteer and board member at a voluntary organisation, wouldn't take a penny even if they offered it (and didn't pay other helpers either). If you start paying some, everybody will want a bit.
@CherryPavlova please could I ask have you self published? How does it work? If you have a publisher how did you go about finding one? X
No not self published. No books out until end of January but then four. Currently available to pre-order. Publishing deal was non-fiction work related.

I used artists and writers yearbook and sent submissions as per website. It was easier than I expected. Much easier. Offered these four and then two next year. Only get 10% , but it’s a big potential market and one is on at £75.

I write regularly for professional journals too. About £150 for 500 words which takes about an hour.

Catwoman1985 · 12/12/2020 22:53

Writing children's books is my side hustle! It pays for our holidays if nothing else.

im5050 · 12/12/2020 22:53

In terms of my time and the vouchers that I get it’s bloody great
I have a pre done template with few funny stuff about dogs and insurance and I just post it on the page if anyone is asking about insurance
Take me 2 seconds 😂
I make sure I don’t post more than 5 in a day as they won’t pay out on any more than 5 referrals in a day 😂 and I get notifications when someone’s taking up my referral so I can work out how much I will have each month
Most weeks I get at least £60 in vouchers referrals
One week I got £120
I do the same on a car insurance referral and that’s not as good as the pet ones but it gets me at least £200 a month in amazon vouchers

zenasfuck · 12/12/2020 22:53

I sell bath bombs, aromatherapy oils and candles etc

Makes a few quid each month alongside my main job

I also blog and have an Instagram which gets freebies every so often

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/12/2020 22:56

CV and interview preparation
I used to run my own recruitment company before retirement, but still enjoy being involved in this way

Setting up an online Amazon selling business!
I see this suggested a lot but I don’t understand how people just do that. What do you sell?
RJnomore1 · 12/12/2020 22:58

I lecture and supervise dissertations which pays about £40/ hour. I let a property foo.

I also still do the odd shift as a youth worker purely for fun, by the time I pay tax and petrol I don’t make anything but it’s good to keep my hand in there.
