To be unreasonably annoyed at Royals at the pantomime

Gigheimer · 11/12/2020 23:24

I post knowing I’m totally unreasonable (probably) and you’ll all shout but I got both angry and sad and rage at seeing the press stories of Kate and Wills at the pantomime in the West End.

I’m normally a fan, and of course I don’t begrudge those cute kids a pantomime.

But my kids don’t get that this year, no Santa experiences, no pantomime no fucking nothing because we are tier 3 and if our local pub or theatre ever open again I’ll die of shock.

But we are in the North so who gives a fuck right?

I just have the absolute unreasonable fury tonight.

But anyone in London can go to the theatre if they can afford the cost. And their kids. That has pretty much zero to do with the royal family.

As for being there, there is usually some public official at that kind of event to thank people. It makes sense they would bring their kids to this one, whoever it was.

Honestly, plenty of people have been 'good friends' with paedophiles. I may have met some and wouldn't have known. I also remember when I was school Jimmy Saville was extremely popular.

Bishop Ball was much loved, it was a big shock when what he had done came to light. The previous AofC, George Carey, said "We were all played", or something like.

Oliversmumsarmy · 18/12/2020 15:15

We lived near to JS. I can remember being told about him in the 60s.
Same with Gary Glitter

A lot of people knew but failed to do anything.
Even if you tried to you only got dismissed.

Seeing him on Jim will fix it for an hour on a Saturday, makes it just a bit more difficult to assess his character as a pedophile than being his personal fucking friend!

Jesus this thread has so many Royal apologists on it! It's not Andrews fault he slept with an exploited girl, it's not Charlie's fault he drove his wife to have MH issues, it's not Charlie's fault that he was mates with a pedophile, because Jim was a top guy on fixing it for people.

HitthatroadJack · 19/12/2020 14:28

let's see if Will and Kate respect the rules for Christmas, or if the whole Middleton family gather as they have already said they would Grin

Oliversmumsarmy · 19/12/2020 16:06

Dils in the 60s and 70s used to have parties where one particular household name attended. (not JS or GG)
When it came out years later Dp and his dm and df were stunned.
They kept going over bits of conversations they remembered they had with him, or just his general demeanour to try and figure out if they missed something.

They just couldn’t think how they could have known.

Saying people should know if there were no clues I would ask how.

What I don’t understand is how is a 16 year old girl underage.

Bookworming · 19/12/2020 18:26

What are you talking about, what 16 year old?

Bookworming · 19/12/2020 18:29

And actually @Oliversmumsarmy saying how is a 16 year old girl underage, meaning that is ok if Andrew or Saville or Charles fucked a 16 year old, it's really ok because she's not underage. You sound absolutely awful, if it was your 16 year old daughter how would you feel about her being exploited by a much older man? Would you be perfectly happy as shes 16 but not "underage".

Oliversmumsarmy · 19/12/2020 22:21

I was just pointing out that describing someone who is 16 as underage is not right.

I know plenty of people who went out with older guys (eventually marrying them) growing up.
Pub in a village I once lived the landlord was in his mid 30s and his wife was 20. They had been together since she was 16. She was definitely older headed than he was.

I think it depends on the 16 year old. Some are very immature and some know what they want and have their head screwed on.

Know several people who married and had children at 16.

Said every abuser bastard ever!

Would you be happy with them fucking your 16 year old daughter?

TheWichitaWineOne · 19/12/2020 23:18

What I don’t understand is how is a 16 year old girl underage

17 is underage/under the age of consent according to state law.

Oliversmumsarmy · 20/12/2020 02:40

Which state?

Didn’t Elvis marry Priscilla when she was 15

If 16 is underage isn’t then the tv programme 16 and Pregnant exploiting under age girls

Bookworming · 20/12/2020 07:17

@Oliversmumsarmy are you comfortable with it being your 16 year old daughter? You've avoided that question.

jontyl · 20/12/2020 09:47

Why do northerners act so aggressively thinking southerners don't care. We all heard about Liverpool and Manchester's issues and felt sad for you. Now we are in tier 4 so it's our turn. It may interest you to know there are a lot and I mean a LOT of northerners living down south. One country, lots of region mixing nowadays.

He lived with Priscilla from when she was fifteen and they married when she was 21.

Jerry Lee Lewis married a thirteen year, there was outroar when he brought her over to England for a tour.

What the actual fuck is wrong with Royal stans? Whenever Meghan Markle so much as breathes there's ten pages about how she's destroying society, but when it comes to other royals and it's pages and pages of actual literal pedophilia-defending?

Honestly, plenty of people have been 'good friends' with paedophiles. I may have met some and wouldn't have known.
Andrew continued to be good friends with Epstein long after he was convicted.

I know plenty of people who went out with older guys (eventually marrying them) growing up.
Yeah that really isn't the winning "pro-raping sex trafficked kids" argument you think it is.

I just can’t see Dd ever being in that position

She was asked out by a very very wealthy guy who was looking for a mistress. I would have questioned if he was too old for me (I am 60) Dd who looks much older and he obviously thought being manager of a large event meant she was at least in her 30s.
He had offered to take her to a particular event which she said her dad would love to do and could he come as well as he probably had more in common with him than she had.
So I really couldn’t see it ever happening

If she had said she liked him and they were going out I might have raised an eyebrow but I would have let her get on with it.
Dd is someone who started her own business at 16. Bought a house for cash at 18. Learned to tile, paint and lay flooring and now at 20 has become a landlord and is looking for her 2nd property.

Most people her age haven’t left education and are still Covid permitting, partying there way through university.

As I said there are 16 year olds who are mentally about the age of 9 and there are 16 year olds who are 16 going on 36.

My best friend when I was 16 married a 40 year old.

It’s only a tiny minority who would attempt to defend Andrew.

GroundAlmonds · 20/12/2020 11:27

Well that all alright then. As long as it’s only somebody else’s 16 year old being groomed and raped and abused.🙄😡

Oliversmumsarmy · 20/12/2020 12:13

GroundAlmonds I was responding to a question specifically about my own Dd.

Well that all alright then. As long as it’s only somebody else’s 16 year old being groomed and raped and abused

Isn’t that what parents are there for?

Bookworming · 20/12/2020 13:03

I'm really not interested in you DD laying floors and being a landlord. I'm asking if you minded her being shagged by a royal because he's a prince?

@Oliversmumsarmy you've said it all about your daughter and the fact the man was wealthy made it worth considering.what an awful attitude.

Oliversmumsarmy · 20/12/2020 13:59

I wouldn't defend Andrew but the fact is we don't know what he has actually done. Plenty of influential people in all walks of life were 'friendly' with Epstein. We only hear of those who have a 'big' name. My view is that he was probably very small fry in that environment but we don't know; why not just wait and see instead of convicting him.

However maybe not a good idea to be bringing him into this thread.
