No!
Bacon and egg sandwich all the way!
BUT - has to be freshly baked bread, smoked back bacon and the eggs have to be Clarence court ones.
Oh AND proper butter - not marg, not ‘spreadable butter’ - an actually block of Kerry gold Grin

GooseWhiskers · 08/12/2020 08:29

Strictly booze for breakfast on Christmas morning

gurglebelly · 08/12/2020 08:36

Not for breakfast, ever!

ghostyslovesheets · 08/12/2020 08:38

Ff sarnies are hangover food - Christmas breakie is either pancakes and syrup or bacon butties with fizz

lazylinguist · 08/12/2020 08:55

YABU obviously. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon or home-cooked Christmas ham.

wimhoffbreather · 08/12/2020 08:57

Never heard of fish fingers for breakfast Confused

ILikeStrongTea · 08/12/2020 08:59

I hate scrambled eggs, I’ll just have the smoked salmon.

FPS123 · 08/12/2020 09:00

Not something I’ve heard of, but it’s Christmas... anything goes!

Sootyandsweep2019 · 08/12/2020 09:01

Op, I've never thought of this as an Xmas breakfast before, but now I'm very tempted x

Lowhangingfruit · 08/12/2020 10:59

Tbh the only fish fingers I like are the ones from Waitrose 😁. If they want to cook it themselves. But that would involve them coming into my kitchen.... Envy

No never, love a fish finger butty but never on Christmas Day, always a fry up or bacon butties growing up. DH & I do pancakes, bacon, bananas, coulis & syrup for our DCs these days though.

MyCatTibby · 08/12/2020 11:08

I've never had fish finger sandwiches for breakfast - but I wouldn't say no! Love fish finger sarnies - lots of butter and ketchup lovely! And sometimes a bit of cheese! Eat what you want when you want I say Xmas Smile

PokeyPoker · 08/12/2020 11:08

Excuse me?! Fish fingers for breakfast??

No.

PokeyPoker · 08/12/2020 11:09

Except when I was pregnant maybe 😂

VinylDetective · 08/12/2020 11:10

No way. Croissants with cream cheese and smoked salmon in this house.

AndcalloffChristmas · 08/12/2020 11:11

Nothing wrong with them as such, but they’re aren’t a traditional Christmas breakfast, or breakfast of any kind.

No reason why you can’t do whatever you like though.

AndcalloffChristmas · 08/12/2020 11:12

Smoked salmon and scrambled egg is our traditional but we had croissants last year instead.

HitthatroadJack · 08/12/2020 11:13

Pastries in the oven for 5 minutes
that's croissants, pain au chocolat etc..

That's as much cooking as anyone can be arsed to waste their Christmas morning with here!

I can't see the appeal for fish fingers at all, but as long as you are happy with it. If there is a day when you can chose whatever you want! Pizza, birthday cake, lobster... are all very valid choices.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 08/12/2020 11:13

@Lowhangingfruit

Seemed to be traditional among the family. Doorstop bread butter and a dollop of catsup no other sauce allowed. Also never allowed in PJ's once out of bed.
Catsup?
JonHammIsMyJamm · 08/12/2020 11:14

Is that a regional/international thing?

HitthatroadJack · 08/12/2020 11:14

but if anyone tries to replace my morning coffee with a glass of anything, I'll be in a very bad mood Grin

Brunch exist for a reason, leave my breakfast alone.

Simplyunacceptable · 08/12/2020 11:15

No way. We have cinnamon rolls and freshly baked croissants.

52andblue · 08/12/2020 11:27

I remember seeing 'Catsup' in Mexico, as a student.

I now call it Catsup, to the annoynance of my children.

52andblue · 08/12/2020 11:28

tsk... annoyance, even ...
(although I like to annoynance them too ;)
