@EveryDayIsADuvetDay has already posted the correct Christmas day breakfast options

Fish finger sarnies....HEATHEN!

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 07/12/2020 23:45

Pain au chocolate here - being served chocolate for breakfast is the way to go on Xmas Day.

XmasEveshopper · 07/12/2020 23:48

A selection box is the tradition Christmas breakfast in our house. There's often a second breakfast an hour or two later of croissants, toast, eggs whatever anyone fancies but the chocolate always comes first on Christmas Day! Agree about the butties though. Speaking as a northerner somethings just sound weird if you say sandwich not butty. Chip butty - heaven Chip sandwich - odd!

FinallyFluid · 07/12/2020 23:48

Waves at the Daily Mail.

Holothane · 07/12/2020 23:51

I love fish finger sandwiches but not breakfast and not Christmas Day.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 08/12/2020 00:00

@MobLife - only the chocolate is optional

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 08/12/2020 00:01

That makes me feel physically sick 🤮🤮🤮

CoRhona · 08/12/2020 00:04

No!! So, so wrong 😱

Diva66 · 08/12/2020 00:07

Bacon butties

LadyCatStark · 08/12/2020 00:11

Just no!

Bacon and sausage butties or smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and avocado here.

yelyah22 · 08/12/2020 00:17

Love a fish finger butty but categorically not a) for breakfast and b) on Christmas day! Bacon all the way, with a bucks fizz... followed by a chocolate orange or any other chocolate in range for the rest of the day - we eat Christmas dinner very late!

P.S. who on earth calls it catsup? 😏

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 08/12/2020 00:18

A pigs in blanket butty would go down a treat on Christmas morning amongst the chocolates my kids will be eating during and after the present opening, not thought about a fish finger butty thou.

Now this is the second thread on fish finger buttys tonight, now this has got me thinking, does anyone else cook their fish fingers or veggie fingers in the microwave? My mam does and they are actually very nice which surprised me!!Grin

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 08/12/2020 00:19

@Butterymuffin

No, it's just your family. Love a fish finger sandwich but never met anyone who has them for Christmas breakfast. Whereabouts did you grow up?

@EveryDayIsADuvetDay

no! Champagne Smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Toasted bagel or wholemeal bread. More recently with avocado too. Champagne Chocolate
Love a fish finger sandwich however it's Christmas so totally agree with Everyday....champagne, smoked salmon, caviar and bagels

If you have those thermo-bag things, you can do them in the toaster too!

Changechangychange · 08/12/2020 00:32

Chocolate orange washed down with champagne in our house.

Fish finger sandwiches are a light tea. Not breakfast, and not at Christmas.

CosyQueen · 08/12/2020 00:34

No not on Christmas Day! That’s got to be either bacon or sausage (or both!)

Fish fingers in cheap white bread, lots of butter and ketchup on the side - beautiful on a Friday evening after work when you just want comfort food but I’ve never heard of anyone having them for Christmas breakfast Shock

RollneckJumper · 08/12/2020 00:37

There is a time and a place for fish finger sarnies. In fact, lots of times and places for fish finger sarnies ...Christmas morning is NOT one of those times or places.

I have never heard of this Christmas day breakfast suggestion before.

In our house it's: croissants, cut in half length-ways and lightly toasted. Then they are filled with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Glass of champagne or bucks fizz.

jay55 · 08/12/2020 00:40

Nope, Friday lunch.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/12/2020 00:41

for those who like fish finger sandwiches, if you dont already add a potato waffle and cheese, i advise you do so next time. it really elevates it :)

BashfulClam · 08/12/2020 00:47

Toasted bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon in this house. Never would I think of fish fingers as a breakfast food.

BashfulClam · 08/12/2020 00:48

@ClaireP20 try cutting the croissants in half then dipping in egg and frying...it’s delicious. Although I also do cheese sandwiches that way too.

MordredsOrrery · 08/12/2020 01:19

Where the heck do you live that this is a classic breakfast on any day of the year? Iceland?!

Xmas Envy
Frankola · 08/12/2020 01:24

We go for bacon butties usually. However, I'm going to break the mould here and say that I could probably do that - with cheese and red sauce!

CharlotteRose90 · 08/12/2020 01:31

God no . It’s bagels or bacon Sarnies in my house when we all eventually get out of bed
