I am off to the Maldives. It is awesome. I am going on a plane. Then when we come back we are off to Switzerland, skiing. I have missed the world.

This pandemic shows who bad a nice life and is determined to rush back to it. It's years since I went out or went abroad. Apart from being stuck with my annoying children it's not been a drama.

Can't make up whether it's because you have no friends to brag about it on Facebook, or know they would pity you for doing it so you come on a social media to get the United results or you are so full of yourself, you bombard any places to maximise the 'oh, I'm so jealous' to make you feel good.

PS for people interested, the flight was easy, masks weren’t a problem, people gave each other space and the airport functioned like clockwork. If you have the chance to travel, please do!

We aren't even allowed to travel to our local airport for non essential reasons. It's less than 7 miles away but in a different local authority. Also travel to Switzerland is not recommended by the foreign office currently except for essential reasons so not sure I'd be going there to partake in a high risk sport with no insurance cover. Obviously you're willing to take the chance though - enjoy!

See, I’m not bothered with beach holidays so I’m not in the slightest bit envious. I wouldn’t dream of near any ski resorts that open this winter.
I am however going to France for a long holiday this summer, (booked it last week) and to me having something to look forward to in the bleakness of Jan/Feb is more valuable.
