I keep scented bars of soap in my linen closet. I think that actually skipped my mother and came straight from my grandmother.

Me and my late DM had diametrically opposed tastes in most things, other than a shared passion for rummaging in charity shops . I do now own - and wear - a lot of her costume jewellery as a way to feel close to her.

In laws had everything ercol. I swore Id never have it...we now have a table , chairs and sideboard. Love its retro look plus it looks like it will last forever...stuff my mum used to say...argggh!
