@FlumpetCrumpet I bought my first jumper debobbler a month ago but in my defence I read about them on MN so it doesn't count

Does a national trust membership count? I thought that was the epitome of being old and boring when I was a teen and now here I am with one

Oh dear, I think I might still have been a teenager when I joined the NT! Although in my defence my mum had died offensively young and doing things she had enjoyed made me feel less alone.

Pretty cotton handkerchiefs! I have one in each bag now, unused (I carry tissues too) - but somehow knowing it's there makes me feel all ladylike! Grin

Anjo2011 · 04/12/2020 19:51

Love our tin tent.

My DM sang the praises of an air fryer for two years, to the point that I said "NOT ONE MORE WORD" - then my DH showed me his marvelous new tool, which he loves and I love what it produces.

sorry Mum. I was wrong. You were right.

SymbollocksInteractionism · 04/12/2020 19:55

An electric tin opener.
Selection of hot water bottles.
Electric blanket.
A selection of scented disinfectants

FromTheAllotment · 04/12/2020 19:56

M&S jeans. Sorry, teenage self.

Fruitloopcowabunga · 04/12/2020 19:58

Not quite the same but my mum and her sisters used to give each towels and tea towels for Christmas, which I thought was the epitome of dullness. Now I would really like to get some new tea towels for Chrimbo!

FromTheAllotment · 04/12/2020 19:58

Oh and a large selection of cast off old tea towels which are now relegated to cleaning cloths.

I am this close to buying a decorative cushion for my bed, as well. 🤦‍♀️

Yes, and an Ercol display unit thingy with a drop down drinks cabinet!
Oh my god - my mum and dad had that very cabinet!!!! Along with matching coffee table and nest of tables - and in the lounge ( used on high days and holidays) not the living room . Gosh that brought back a memory
CommanderBurnham · 04/12/2020 19:59

Corning ware plates and sets. If you come from a south East Asian background, you'll know what I mean.

Margotshypotheticaldog · 04/12/2020 20:00

Oh god yes to the funeral coat. I have a summer one and a winter one!!

pinkbalconyrailing · 04/12/2020 20:01

all things my parents owned that I swore I wouldn't I have because they gave it to me.

I think the worst (never used) are egg warmers.
the long-handled shoe horn though came in very handy when I put my back out.
