Proper napkins and napkin rings
Always! I also embroidered our initials on them so they don't get mixed up. My mum doesn't use them at all though. I think I might have converted her to vests though. My husband wears them from Srptember to May and is always careful of his kidneys. Grin

Another one with a National Trust membership (a life one, as we saved money by barely leaving the house this year).
A caravan- bizarrely all my siblings want a weekend away in it with our parents for nostalgia, so it’s not just me.

Jesscarbqueen87 · 05/12/2020 20:28

Several nighties 🙈

Lucyccfc68 · 05/12/2020 20:41

Big knickers. We used to absolutely take the mick out of my Mum for her ‘belly warmers’.

FelicisNox · 05/12/2020 21:18

Bridget Jones style pants.

FlynnD · 05/12/2020 22:26

Sorry about your mum :-(
but your comment made me smile

Graphista · 05/12/2020 23:58

Heartfelt sympathy to all those who've lost their mums.

Mines in her 70's and not in the best of health these days I'm absolutely dreading her loss.

I very much regret not valuing her wisdom much younger and she's now the person I most often turn to for advice on soooo many things.

Great thread op

DoveOfPiss · 06/12/2020 00:09

Pyrex dishes
A hand held rechargeable hoover
I do own a pair of Hotter trainers but rarely wear them (although they are sooo comfy!!)
A bag of carrier bags
A 'shit drawer' with string, candles, tiny screwdrivers, light bulbs, batteries, treasury tags & random stuff in

So many of these posts are making me smile and nod Smile

DoveOfPiss · 06/12/2020 00:09

Ooo and a feather duster for those ceiling cobwebs!! Shock

Pansypath · 06/12/2020 01:00

Pre pandemic I was considering a cruise.

S0upertrooper · 06/12/2020 01:32

DM used DF's old cut up y-fronts and vests as dusters. Not only did I swear never to use the same but I thought it was uncool to dust.

Fortunately DH doesn't wear Y-fronts but his vests make great dusters! 😆

maddiemookins16mum · 06/12/2020 07:53

Oh and DP and I are considering a coach tour of the Scottish Highlands next year.

Idontwannadance1 · 06/12/2020 08:06

Grape scissors! Although to be fair my mum gave me a pair one Christmas.

theo12 · 06/12/2020 08:11

Chailatte20 · 06/12/2020 08:30

@RB68

Anyone wanting ercol chic room divider, chairs and table and high side board LMK doing MIL house clearance at the moment bloody nightmare
*@RB68* stick it on ebay, you'll get good money for it. I spotted an ercol second hand room divider on sale for £1.5k on ebay. There was a furious bidding war going on so there is a demand for it. ercol ebay
Mommabear20 · 06/12/2020 08:33

Kids! 😂

DuesToTheDirt · 06/12/2020 08:39

Old knickers for dusting? You'd have to wipe my brain first. I don't care how many times they've been washed, someone had their bum in them and I'm not using them for dusting!

FippertyGibbett · 06/12/2020 08:40

Shoes that are comfortable, not fashionable.

NameChangeUnwiseAdvice · 06/12/2020 08:50

A spoon rest! For resting your spoon on when you are done stirring your cooking. Ohhhhhhhhh how I took the piss out of her for this. And now I own one and love it!

This thread is lovely by the way.

tierdytierd · 06/12/2020 16:06

Cherish her, Graphista, losing my mum was the worst thing that’s ever happened to me. My world changed for ever that day.
FippertyGibbett · 06/12/2020 16:40

I agree, cherish your mums. Mine never got to hold my babies.

ssd · 06/12/2020 16:42

I hated garden centres as a child, mum loved them so i had to go....

Now she's not here I love a mooch round them....

ssd · 06/12/2020 16:43

Another one here who has been bereft since losing her mum...

maddiemookins16mum · 06/12/2020 16:49

Me too. I never thought it would hurt so much even 7 years later. I honestly think a bit of me died too. It’s never the same without your mum.
